Diggin’ In The Crates (D.I.T.C.) member Diamond D is preparing his return to the rap scene with the release of his new album The Huge Hefner Chronicles.

 

The album, which includes the Nottz produced first single “D-I-A-M-O-N-D,” marks the legendary beatmaker’s first musical offering since signing a multi-album deal with New York City-based label Babygrande Records.

 

As one of Hip-Hop’s best-known producers, Diamond D has crafted beats for classic albums such as The Fugee’s The Score and A Tribe Called Quest’s The Low End Theory as well as releases from Mos Def, Pharoahe Monch. Fat Joe, Xzibit, KRS-One, Tha Alkaholiks, Busta Rhymes and others.

 

The entertainer, who shared mic time with fellow D.I.T.C. members Fat Joe, Big L, O.C., Buckwild, Lord Finesse and Showbiz and AG, carved a niche for himself as a solo artist with his 1992 debut album, Stunts Blunts & Hip-Hop.

 

Diamond D’s sophomore release, 1997’s Hatred, Passions & Infidelity, featured appearances from Busta Rhymes, Phife Dawg and, Pete Rock.

 

The Huge Hefner Chronicles, Diamond D’s first album in more than three years, is slated to hit stores on Oct. 14.
