Former 106 and Park personality Free officially joined Power 105.1 as co-host of the Ed Lover Morning Show today (October 14).
Program Director Cadillac Jack spoke on the deal and added his network is assured that Frees successful, #1 rated run as a BET VJ will translate to the competitive New York radio market.
Like Ed [Lover], Free is synonymous with Hip-Hop culture and hosted one of the most reputable music programs of all time, Jack explained to AllHipHop.com. With a large fan base already established here in NYC, we are confident many listeners will welcome her with open arms.
After her departure from 106 and Park in 2005, Free went on the following year to produce and host her own LA-based afternoon show, Frees World.
In addition, the multi-faceted entertainer founded a production company, WorldBeFree, and the philanthropy-based Free4Life Foundation.
Now after relocating back to the East Coast, Free expressed that hosting a high-profile New York radio show is another dream shes been blessed to achieve.
I have always wanted to be on New York radio and Im thankful for the opportunity to wake up listeners on the Ed Lover Show, Free asserted. I look forward to joining Ed daily and being the voice of news and entertainment for all listeners in the Tri-State area on-air and online.
Ed Lover, a veteran Hip-Hop radio and VJ personality for over 20 years, states that Frees presence will illustrate the perfect feminine element to expand the shows audience.
Im very excited to have Free as my co-host on the morning show, Ed stated. Her beauty, intelligence, and excitement will be a great addition to New York radio and will take the show to the next level.
The Ed Lover Morning Show currently airs weekdays from 6-10AM.
