Despite rumors suggesting a signing with Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Bad Boy Records, R&B crooner D’Angelo is remaining at his current record label AllHipHop.com has confirmed.

“While both gentlemen hold one another in the highest regard, the stories circulating in the press are totally false,” according to D’Angelo’s manager, Lindsay Guion.

Guion dismissed the hearsay and she confirmed that D’Angelo is signed to the RCA Music Group (J Records).

News of the vocalist’s label status comes as D’Angelo nears completion of his highly anticipated third album.

To date, he has recorded with Raphael Saadiq, Q-Tip and Roy Hargrove.

A recently released single from the album, titled “I Found My Smile Again,” is available exclusively on iTunes.

Other collaborators expected to work with the singer on the album include Gnarls Barkley member Cee-Lo Green.

In recent years, D’Angelo has set the stage for his return to music by appearing on albums from Hargrove, Q-Tip, Snoop Dogg, Common and the late J. Dilla.

D’Angelo’s upcoming album is scheduled to be released in 2009.
