Bun B is refuting reports that he has signed to Koch Entertainment through a Texas-based indie label.

In an exclusive statement to AllHipHop.com, the Houston rapper explains that the news, published by several online sources yesterday (January 13), where a misunderstanding stemming from a forthcoming guest appearance.

“I do not have a label situation with Koch Records,” he told AllHipHop.com. “I am signed to Rap-A-Lot Records as a solo artist and Jive Records as the group UGK.”

The indie distribution powerhouse announced yesterday that it had signed five new labels: Nina Easton’s IMG International/404 Music Network, Tenacity Records, Unruly Records, Greenstreets Entertainment and Doc Music Group.

Listed as the artist that would join Koch as part of Doc’s roster were Paul Wall affiliates Grit Boys, DJ GT, Lil Kano and Bun B & Middle Fingaz.

However, the UGK co-founder explains, he is not a member of the group Middle Fingaz, but rather featured on their planned 2009 Koch release.

“They are trying to release a mixtape from a group affiliated with me,” he stated. “I am only featured on the project. I have not been a part of any negotiations with this project. Hopefully this statement clears any misunderstandings.”

In early 2008, Bun B announced that despite longtime partner Pimp C’s untimely December 2007 death, he still planned to complete and release a follow up to UGK’s 2007 release Underground Kingz.

No word on when that project or Bun B’s solo follow up to last year’s II Trill will be released.
