Muslim Ban Lifted For Black Eyed Peas Show

A ban on Muslims planning to attend an upcoming show by the Black Eyed Peas in Malaysia has been lifted organizers have confirmed.

The concert sparked controversy in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where Islamic law forbids the consumption of alcohol and concerts promoted by liquor companies.

Beer maker Guinness is one of the sponsors of the concert, although the brand is forbidden from posting signage anywhere in the theme park where the concert will take place.

Organizers did not divulge a reason for the Culture Ministry’s sudden change regarding the ban on Muslims, who are now permitted to attend the concert, which takes place September 25.

In related BEP news, the group has been sued by a woman who was injured when she fell through a flight of stairs during a rehearsal with the group.

Winter Sumpter claims she has suffered severe and permanent damages as a result of the fall and seeks an undisclosed amount.
