Oscar-winning actor/singer Jamie Foxx is preparing for the upcoming release of his latest movie, Law Abiding Citizen.

The psychological thriller, which also stars Gerard Butler, centers on a man (Butler) who, 10 years after his wife and daughter are brutally murdered, returns to exact justice from the assistant district attorney (Foxx) who prosecuted the case against their killers.

His vengeance threatens not only the man who allowed mercy to supersede justice, but also the system and the city that made it so.

In addition to Foxx and Butler, Law Abiding Citizen will feature Bruce McGill, Leslie Bibb, Colm Meaney and Regina Hall.

The F. Gary Gray-helmed film is expected to hit theaters in 2010.

Law Abiding Citizen will premiere next week during the 13th Annual Urbanworld Film Festival in New York, as the festival’s opening night film.

In related news, Jamie Foxx is currently on the road promoting his latest album Intuition, which features Timbaland, Kayne West, T.I. and Rick Ross.
