(AllHipHop News) The mothers of rappers Lil Wayne, T-Pain and R&B singer Ne-Yo will receive a humanitarian award for the community involvement and dedication to empowering women in the United States.

Wayne’s mother Jacida Carter, T-Pain’s mother Aliyah Najm and Ne-Yo’s mother H. Loraine Smith will be presented with the award during the first annual “Queens in Our Communities” celebration, which takes place this weekend in Atlanta.

“We are honored to receive the humanitarian award. We appreciate being acknowledged for our efforts towards making our corner of the world a little better,” Ne-Yo’s mother H. Loraine Smith stated. “We believe that all of us have something to contribute to the betterment of our community. We chose to use education and empowerment as our vehicle towards that end. It is amazing and gratifying to be recognized by your peers for attempting to accomplish the same goals. Bringing families together is the first step in making our communities better. Let’s continue to strive for the goal of a richer more empowered community.”

A number of celebrity guests and performers are due to attend the celebration, which takes place at the Historic Highland Inn & Ballroom in Atlanta this Sunday (March 7) at 7:00 PM.

“These women we will honor have an above average entrepreneurial spirit, high ethics and community spirit, financial and management skill coupled with creativity and out of the box thinking,” said Program Director Carla Barnes. “The event is designed to ignite the fire and inspire a whole new generation of empowered women across the country.”

Tickets are $20 – $50 each, and maybe purchased at the door or online at http://queensofinternetradio.com/Events.aspx.
