(AllHipHop News Editorial) On Sunday, March 28, Music Industry Online, Women
on the Move, Life Camp and Sunday School presented the 4th Annual
Women’s Herstory Month Tribute tour to a packed house of industry professionals
and supporters at the Time Square Arts Center. Its purpose was to shine a
luminous light on the influences and achievements of women across the
entertainment spectrum.
The panel was moderated by the pleasantly gracious Dee
Vazquez, host of “The #1 Countdown: Hip-Hop” on the Fuse Network. Panelist
included Power 105.1 personality Cherry Martinez, Hot 97 personality K. Foxx,
Billboard.com Editor and Billboard Hip-Hop journalist (print) Mariel
Concepcion, DEF JAM recording artist Karina Pasian and the pint-sized wonder,
Emerald-Angel Young, spokesperson for Tea Party Angels and she also played
Jamie Foxx’s daughter in the big screen thriller, Law Abiding Citizen.
Dee Vasquez did an excellent job in not only asking the
questions that affects women the most in the entertainment field. She also
adjusted beautifully on the fly, maintaining a seamless flow of information as
each panelist gave their view on the subject at hand. The panelist talked about
daily image, fighting the good fight against the “boys club”, why interning
still matters, their personal influences, and solidarity amongst women.
The 4th Annual Women’s Herstory Month Tribute
