(AllHipHop News) Death Row Records continues to cling to life, despite a fresh round of lawsuits and accusations aimed at the new owners of the former powerhouse label. WIDEawake-Deathrow Entertainment has announced a new album by longtime artist Danny Boy ironically titled Its About Time. The first single from the album is titled Its About U. According to reps, Its About Time will feature production from DJ Quik and Jodeci member/ hit producer, Devante. Danny Boy rose to fame after delivering the vocals on Tupac Shakurs hit single I Aint Mad At Cha. He also collaborated with Tupac on Picture Me Rollin, Toss It Up Whatz Ya Phone # and Heaven Aint Hard to 2 Find, from the multi-platinum All Eyez On Me album. Laura Lavi was named CEO by a group of investors who purchased Death Row Records out of bankruptcy for $18 million dollars in January of 2009. Since then Lavi and New Solutions Capital Group have been at odds due to allegations of financial irregularities on behalf of both parties.New Solutions is seeking to sell the $18 million dollar loan because things have devolved into chaos, the Wall Street Journal reported earlier this month. The news didnt sit well with former Death Row artist RBX, who lashed out at the CEOs of WIDEawake-Deathrow Entertainment, after the new owners ousted Lara Lavi. I just have one thing I have to ask these guys. What tha f–k were you thinking …….seriously? We all had a little bit of hope when this game started but due to the shenanigans, optimism is dwindling. In February, it was also revealed that Dr. Dre was suing WIDEawake-Deathrow Entertainment for royalties owed on his hit album The Chronic. Despite the turmoil surrounding the label, Danny Boys Its About Time is due in stores April 20th.
