DJ Vlad was awarded $300,000 in damages from Rick Ross over a 2008 scuffle in which the DJ was beaten.

In 2008, Vlad attempted to interview Rick Ross about his then-alleged history as a correctional officer.The pair, along with some of Ross’ crew, met up and attacked Vlad, causing him to suffer seven stitches under one of his eyes, three facial fractures, a corneal abrasion and other damage. Ross appeared in New York Federal court yesterday where he took the stand as a witness in the entire ordealThe rapper, who wore his trademark shades during the court appearance, claimed he didn’t know the assault was going to happen and that he never touched the rapper. After an hour so of deliberation, a jury decided found Ross responsible for $50,000 in compensatory damages and $250,000 in punitive damages.

“Today is a good day,” Vlad said from his Twitter account.At press time, there was no comment from Rick Ross.
