(AllHipHop News) Another star-studded edition of Hot 97’s annual Summer Jam was completed last night (June 6), and featured standout performances from new and veteran artists alike. The show took place in a front of a sold-out crowd of over 70,000 people at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Several stars vied for “showstopper” accolades. Trey Songz enamored his female base with highly sexually suggestive theatrics to his hits from Ready, Trey Day, and I Gotta Make It. Nicki Minaj was the most prominent artist of evening, performing 4 different sets to accommodate all of her recent high-profile guest appearances with Ludacris, Usher, and her own Young Money camp. DJ Khaled was widely praised backstage as having the performance of the night. Billed for the event as “DJ Khaled and Friends,” the energetic Miami native stormed the stage with an estimated 100 plus entourage, and brought out Rick Ross, Fat Joe, Barrington Levy, Cam’Ron, and Vado to huge ovations. Although Juelz Santana also completed a set, the rumored Dipset Reunion did not take place. Drake was on hand to perform selections from So Far Gone and his upcoming Thank Me Later debut. The Toronto emcee took time out to acknowledge incarcerated label mate Lil Wayne, and got down on his knees to thank his fans who’ve helped bring him from his humble acting beginnings to music superstardom. The show was rounded out with additional performances by Reflection Eternal, Maino, Fabolous, Funk Master Flex, T-Pain, Estelle, Fabolous, Gucci Mane, and Waka Flocka.
