(AllHipHop News) A teenager in Palm Bay, Florida is facing a hate crime charge after a racially motivated attack centering around rap music. According to Florida Today, a 22-year-old white man was walking down the street with a group of youth, listening to rap music. The unnamed 14-year-old, who is black, confronted the man assaulted him and allegedly stated “white people shouldn’t listen to rap music.”The victim replied that he could listen to any type of music he liked, which caused the teenager to assault the man as the other teens cheered him on. According to Palm Bay Police Department spokeswoman Yvonne Martinez, the teen’s original misdemeanor could be elevated to a third-degree felony because of the race baiting. The 14-year-old was booked into the Juvenile Detention Center as investigators review the case.
