(AllHipHop News) A variety of Philadelphia Hip-Hop powerhouses have united to release a track to showcase the growing unity in the city of Brotherly Love’s Hip-Hop community. Grammy Award winning producer Dice Raw of The Roots has assembled Schoolly D., recognized as “the father of gangster rap,” EST, of legendary Hip-Hop group Three Times Dope, internationally known rapper Freeway and former Philly’s Most Wanted member Boo Bonic. The four rappers appear on the remix to the track “100,” which is proceed by R&S Music Group producer Rick Friedrich, who has received Grammy nods for his production on The Roots’ latest album “How I Got Over” and “Wake Up.”The track features Schoolly D., who is noted for releasing the first “gangsta rap” record with the timeless 1986 Hip-Hop classic, “P.S.K. (Park Side Killers),” an ode to his neighborhood affiliations. EST was the lead member of Three Times Dope, who hit big for Philadelphia with their debut Original Stylin’, which produced the Hip-Hop classics “Greatest Man Alive,” “Funky Dividends” in 1989. He has gone on to have a successful career as producer, notching hits like “Cater 2 U,” “Baby Boy,” “Me, Myself and I” and “Naughty Girl” for Beyonce, in addition to making hits for Mya, Mario, LeToya Luckett. Boo Bonic made his mark for the city as a member of the group Philly’s Most Wanted, who hit big with their single “Cross the Border” in 2001. Freeway has sold millions of records, first as a member of Jay-Z’s Roc-A-Fella Records stable of artists, then as a successful solo artist, following the sale of one of rap’s most legendary imprints in 2004.Dice Raw has earned a Grammy Award for his role as producer for The Roots and just this week, he garnered two nominations with the famous Philadelphia Hip-Hop band for his work on How I Got Over. “I was very fortunate to recently work with these extremely gifted artists,” Dice Raw told AllHipHop.com in a statement. “Anytime you get a group of guys in the studio with this caliber of talent you know they are going to give hip-hop fans something special.” To listen to the song or to buy the track, click here.
