(AllHipHop News) Jamaican dancehall star Vybz Kartel has officially been charged with murder, according to Jamaican police.
The 27-year-old DJ/rapper/dancehall artist is accused of killing a 27-year-old promoter, who was murdered on the street earlier this year.
Vybz Kartel is accused of a murder that took place on Monday, July 11th, 2011. Vybz, along with a group of other men, killed a man named Barrington “Bossie” Burton.
The man was killed as he was standing with friends in the Gregory Park section of Jamaica.
Vybz was arrested and charged by the Major Investigation Task force (MIT) yesterday (October 3rd).
Earlier last week, police closed in on Vybz Kartel, when he was arrested in new Kingston and found with a small quantity of marijuana.
The arrest presumably occurred, so authorities could hold Vybz until he was officially charged with Burton’s murder.
Vybz, born Adijah almer, was officially charged with murder, conspiracy to murder and illegal possession of a firearm.
