(AllHipHop News) Hip-Hop group The Black Eyed Peas have dropped out of an upcoming Michael Jackson tribute concert, that is slated to take place this weekend.
The Peas were slated to hit the stage with a number of celebrities in Cardiff, Wales for the “Michael Forever Tribute” Concert, which takes place this Saturday (October 8th).
“Due to unavoidable circumstances, the Black Eyed Peas will be unable to perform at this Saturday’s Michael Forever event,” Chris Hunt, head of Global Live Events, said in a statement. “It is with regret that we announce the removal of Black Eyed Peas from the Michael Forever bill, but I look forward to a great night with other earth shattering artists.
Other artists slated to perform during the evening include rapper Cee Lo Green, Gladys Knight, Christina Aguilera, Latoya Jackson and Smokey Robinson.
The concert is taking place as Dr. Conrad Murray stands trial for involuntary manslaughter, surrounding the death of Michael Jackson.
The 50-year-old world-famous singer died from a drug overdose on June 25, 2009. Dr. Murray faces up to 4 years in prison if he is convicted of the charges.
