(AllHipHop News) Rapper Lil Boosie is using his time behind bars wisely. According to reports, Lil Boosie took his GED test several months ago and recently received his results. The rapper, who once bragged about dropping out of school, is now an official recipient of his GED, which he received last Tuesday (October 18). Lil Boosie is currently in jail at Angola State prison, where he faces a possible death sentence for his involvement in October 2009 murder. While the rapper is raising funds for his defense through his website BoosieJustice.com, rappers Yo Gotti and Young Jeezy have also contributed towards Boosie’s defense fund. Earlier this month, Yo Gotti was in Baton Rogue, where he spent the day with Boosie’s children.

Tour reps for the South African leg of Lil Wayne’s “I Am Music Tour” have confirmed the dates for the rapper’s first tour of the country. Lil Wayne will hit the stage at the Bellville Velodrome on December 7th, followed by a performance at the Coca-Cola Dome in Johannesburg on December 9. His final appearance in the country will take place on December 11, when Lil Wayne appears in Durban at the Wavehouse. “Few will argue with him being the best rapper alive; no rapper has made more hits in modern time than Lil Wayne and his live performances are to die for,” said tour organizer Glen Netshipise of Canoc Productions. “It is our ultimate pleasure to present you Lil Wayne.”

Houston rap legend Scarface is reemerging in the Hip-Hop scene by backing and executive producing a new project by West Coast rapper, Kenny Kingpin. Kenny Kingpin is preparing to release Rubberband Ready Radio, which is being executive produced by Scarface and hosted by DJ Whoo Kid. Kenny Kingpin, who spent 26 months in federal prison, originally released records under the name “Poppa L.Q.,” in the early 1990’s. His debut album was titled Notes of a Native Son, while early in his career he recorded with a host of influential West coast artists, including E-40, Ras Kass, Kurupt, WC and AMG. For his new release, Kenny Kingpin tapped the talents of Yukmouth, G-Malone and others. “When reality slaps you in the face two things happen, you find out exactly what you are made of and make a conscious decision of sinking or sailing,” Kenny Kingpin said. “I’m here to win, I’m here to educate the masses I’m here to prevent repeat offenders. Trust me when I say this, the listeners will learn…It’s an honor for me to have the greats like Scarface co-sign me and help me export my music to the people.  Everything I did before was the prerequisite for the order of business already set to take place.”
