Shawnna Releases “Horror Show” For Halloween

EXCLUSIVE: CHECK OUT SHAWNNA’S NEW VIDEO FOR “HORROR SHOW”

(AllHipHop News) Chicago rapper Shawnna will spend the Halloween weekend promoting her new single “Horror Show,” which is taken from her upcoming new mixtape “Tales From the Crypt.”

Shawnna said she decided on the horror theme for her mixtape and single, due to her love for Halloween and scary flicks.

“I am an extreme fan of Horror movies,” Shawnna told AllHipHop.com. “I have loved them since I was a kid – everything from Freddy and all of his movies to Jason and Poltergeist.”

The video, which features Shawnna’s new group GMGirls (Gunna and L Streetz), was shot at Dream Reepers, one of the top haunted houses in Chicago.

The music for the single was produced by Jonny Juliano (Gucci Mane, Wiz Khalifa, Big Sean), while the visual for the track was shot by Raphah Andreson and produced by Shawnna herself.

The “Tales From the Crypt” mixtape is an opening chapter in the next portion of Shawna’s career, which includes developing out a stable of female rappers.

Over the past several months, Shawnna, who was once signed to Ludacris’ Disturbin Tha Peace imprint, has been tutoring female artists from the Midwest, including Chicago and St. Louis and teaching the women the music business.

“I feel there is a lack of camaraderie among women in Hip-Hop,” Shawnna told AllHipHop.com. “I just want to build a team of women who are incredible lyricist, quality performers and solid business women. I didn’t have that when I started, that and that’s one of the main reasons I am building the GMGirls movement.”

Fans of Shawnna can catch her on the “Big Booty Judy” tour with the GMGirls. Her new single and mixtape, which is being released via Money Over Everything Entertainment, will be available for purchase on iTunes.
