(AllHipHop News) Organizers for the Big Day Out Festival have lost more hip-hop star power, as Kanye West is no longer taking part in the annual event.
The rap star was supposed to headline the Auckland date of the Big Day Out Festival, but organizers said that he has been 86′d, due to downsizing.
According to reports, the organizers decided to cut acts on other stages in Perth and Adelaide, as well.
Disappointed fans have two options.
They can request a full refund, or receive a $20 voucher for free merchandise at the Big Day Out Festival.
Acts still slated to hit the stage include My Chemical Romance, Girl Talk, Soundgarden, Das Racist, The Vaccines, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and others.
The news of Kanye West’s canceled performance at the Big Day Out Festival comes on the heels of the removal of hip-hop group Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All.
The controversial Los Angeles collective was removed from the Auckland, New Zealand date on the Big Day Out Festival bill earlier this week, after complaints arose over their homophobic lyrics.
The Big Day Out Festival takes place January 20-February 5 in Auckland, Gold Coast, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Perth.
