Texas rap legend Bun B, the remaining half of rap group UGK, found himself in a ‘hood liquor store in Brooklyn, New York, this week to pay tribute to his other half, the late rapper, Pimp C. With the rumble of the Brooklyn J Train above, the Pimp C celebration took form via a new Kidz In The Hall track and video called “Pour It Up,” also featuring Bun B and Mississippi rapper/producer David Banner.
For years, the dynamic duo of Bun B and Pimp C helped set a new course for the industry takeover by Southern Hip-Hop. And while Bun B still holds it down tremendously as a rapper, businessman, and even guest professor at Rice University, it’s not hard to see the distant look in his eyes when he talks about his MC partner’s passing on December 4, 2007.
AllHipHop.com visited the “Pour It Up” video set and asked Bun B for his reflections on another fallen rapper the world is missing right now – the incomparable Heavy D. Check out the video clip below:
R.I.P. Heavy D and Pimp C!
