(AllHipHop News) Actress Denise Vasi has landed a role on Queen Latifah’s#### scripted series “Single Ladies,” which airs on VH1.

Next month, Queen Latifah’s Flavor Unit Entertainment will begin filming the second season of “Single Ladies,” which also stars returning actresses LisaRaye McCoy and Charity Shea.

In the new season, Denise Vasi will star as “Raquel,” a close friend of Keisha, who is played by LisaRaye McCoy.

“Raquel” is a savvy business woman from a prominent Southern family who is on a quest to “discover passion.”

Denise Vasi has had been featured in USA’s “White Collar” and ABC’s “All My Children.”

“Denise is the perfect addition to the ‘Single Ladies’ cast,” Flavor Unit Entertainment Executive Producer Queen Latifah told AllHipHop.com in a statement. “She is bringing a fun, new element to the show.”

“Single Ladies” centers around the relationships of Keisha, Raquel and April, three best friends with different philosophies on relationships, love and sex.

Last season’s show garnered an average of 2.8 million total viewers for VH1, making it one of the network’s most popular shows.

“We are thrilled to welcome Denise to the cast of ‘Single Ladies,'” said Jeff Olde, EVP Original Production and Programming, VH1. “It was a rare and wonderful moment during the audition when everyone in the room immediately knew we had found our ‘Raquel.’ Denise’s beauty, style, grace and humor leap from the screen and we can’t wait to share her with our viewers and fans of the show.”

Season two of “Single Ladies” will begin filming in Atlanta in January, while the series is slated to premiere early in the summer of 2012 on VH1.
