Slim Thug says that after years, he is finally enjoying all aspects of the craft he has been mastering, since he was a teenager.

“Man really, I’m just having fun. That’s it, just going to the studio having fun with my patnas man. Ideas came and I just wanted to stay in the studio,” Slim Thug told AllHipHop.com in an exclusive interview. “All throughout my career, I never really liked being in the studio, but now I finally started enjoying it. Sitting with a producer and building, I’m finally enjoying it now.”

Slim Thug has also developed “Thug Thursdays,” where the rapper releases a new song every week, for fans via Twitter.

“We ain’t plan the mixtape or nothing, I just said I wanted to drop a track every Thursday,” Slim explained. “Then we turned it into a mixtape and then my album. I’m just going to keep having fun, keep making music, stay in the studio and whatever it ends up on, it ends up on. I ain’t trippin, I’m having fun and getting money.”

In addition to his HOUSTON mixtape, Thugga has been working diligently on a new project with fellow Texas representer Z-Ro.

Slim Thug and Z-Ro are working on a new album entitled Hogg Life, tentatively planned for release in the Summer or 2012.

“We already did three or four songs already and we just now getting started, but we did a record the night before last and it came out real good, so I’m real excited about that,” Thugga explained to AllHipHop.com about his work with Z-Ro.

“My new solo album, Hogg Life is gonna drop in the Summer or maybe before. Me and Z-Ro working on the record, anything you need you can download off my Twitter page.”

When asked about the respect he commands across the city of Houston and Texas in general, Slim told AllHipHop he attributes the fans’ loyalty to his longevity in the Houston rap scene.

“Really, I just been doing this for so long,” Slim Thug told AllHipHop.com. “A lot of people think that I’m old, but I just turned 31 in September. I’ve been doing this since I was 17, so even then I was around the OGs in the game. I just been reppin’ Houston for a long time, I think that’s what people respect.”
