IRS Seeks To Garnish Nas’ Publishing Income

(AllHipHop News) Nas’ financial battle with the Internal Revenue Service continues, over a $6 million delinquent tax bill.

According to TMZ.com, the IRS recently filed court documents seeking to garnish Nas’ earnings from his publishing companies.

The government is garnishing wages Nas earns through ASCAP and BMI, the two largest performing right Society organizations in the United States.

The performing rights organizations collect and track Nas’ music earnings from radio, television and other sources.

In February, the IRS put a lien on property Nas owns in Eagles Landing, Georgia, as well as a $339,000 tax bill for income earned in 2010.

Nas is reportedly preparing to release a new album tentatively titled Life Is Good.

    Stupid deadbeat N!gger shit.

    • illymac

Yo on the real U a fukkin clown
talking that racist deadbeat n!gger shit..

comment on the artical and keep that racist shit to ya self..

      • therealest1

O.k., you liked my comment, but then you reply about how you don’t agree with it? Talk about oxymoron.

I love Chris Rock’s joke about how he loves black people, but eh hates N!ggers. Nas is the perfect example of it with his mismanagement of money.

Its pathetic how he doesn’t have the same money management skills like Magic Johnson when he was afforded with many opportunities. At least Magic was intelligent enough to filter out who he supported and abstained from yes men and leeches unlike Nas who didn’t.

        Magic Johnson = intelligent black

        Nas = stupid N!gger

The Realest 1 You are absolutely stupid, and so are your points

      • YaheardSyndicate

Do you remember Magic Johnsons Tv show? He could barely read the Cue Cards.

Man I know the homie Nas is kicking his self right now for
not chasing that paper early on..

      • Roberto Ciamora

Only thing he’s kicking himself for is being an idiot who doesnt know how to handle money, he’s earned plenty through the years there’s no reason he should be this broke except for not having a good accountant and getting married to a gold digger without a pre nup

  • rep87

Only two things are certain in Life is Death & Taxes  and if IRS say you owe its hard to beat to  them !

  • mrgibson

lol you guys should really stop believing everything you read/hear…..as a black high end celebrity, if he REALLY had a 6million dollar tax bill he would have been made an example of already and been put in jail.

    • Tony G.

not really..as long as he keeps attempting to take care of it, they’re not going to jail him

      • This more or less true.  However, since a garnishment has been issued that  indicates that his representation isn’t doing much to help.  When the IRS goes after receivables like that, they are attempting to choke off all of his cash flow.  He has better options than letting them take that, but he needs stronger representation to make that happen.

      • mrgibson

         good point

    • Mongo Slade

THANK YOU MR GIBSON! Do people forget the smear campaign years ago when the media kept saying Mike Jackson was broke…. dummy’s used to believe it… Mike owned his publishing along with Beatles and others in addition to hundreds of millions made from touring and album sales…. the man was a billionaire but somebody wanted us to believe he was a broke druggie, GTFOH and like my man here said don’t be so gullible!
