Tyler James Williams built a name on the hit TV show, “Everybody Hates Chris”, but the recent premiere of Disney’s Let It Shine has put the spotlight on him as an artist, too. The movie garnered 5.7 million viewers, and is now the #1 TV movie of the year among kids and tweens, and Williams is not only a part of the cast, but also featured on the soundtrack.

Williams recently performed in New York City at an album release event for the Let It Shine soundtrack, alongside recording artist and actress, CoCo Jones.

Multifaceted and gifted, it’s pretty clear we will see a lot more of Williams’ solid talent.

Let It Shine, a re-imagining of the classic Cyrano de Bergerac story (an 1837 play written entirely in verse), set in the contemporary world of Hip- Hop and gospel music. The movie stars also stars CoCo Jones, Trevor Jackson, Brandon Mychal Smith, Nicole Sullivan, and Alex Désert. It was directed by two-time DGA Award winner, Paul Hoen, and includes hit songwriters and producers on the soundtrack. The soundtrack is also climbing various charts, including Radio Disney.
