(AllHipHop News) In a visit to New York’s Hot 97 radio station, Rick Ross brought out the whole Maybach Music Group (MMG) team to discuss the Self Made Volume 2 release, which hits stores today (June 26).

During the interview, Rick Ross fielded questions about how he picked the current MMG team and what he sees in artists to make them successful in the rap game.

“[What I see is] the amount of emotion that they put into the music and the type of impact that I think that they can possibly have,” Rick Ross told Hot 97. “Now it’s all about ways of bringing it out. We get in the studio and find ways to do it, its all love and the energy is there. It’s not easy, but it works.”

While the rumors have swirled over the last few weeks about Rockie Fresh, Nipsey Hussle or Dom Kennedy, Rick Ross said none of the aforementioned acts have signed to MMG.

The rapper said that he is focused on his current roster of artists, which includes Wale, Meek Mill, Stalley, French Montana, Omarion, Gunplay and others.

“Shout out to the lil’ homie Rockie Fresh, that’s one of my lil’ homies and I’m a fan of his music, but as of now he’s not a member of MMG. But as far as [signings]- we forever evolving, but I’d love to focus on the homies that we have here. You gonna see a lot more from Gunplay, and everybody else just keeps grinding and when they’re time comes, step up to the plate,” Rick Ross said.

For those wondering, Rick Ross hasn’t forgotten about the Triple C’s, as he still has plans for Gunplay as a solo artist.

“Yea he’s been down with me from day one, he’s in the team, he’s good, its just when he was ready to make the decision that, ‘I’ma leave the streets alone a lil’ more, with time enough to focus on my music.’ Gunplay is a different type of artist and he a different type of dude. He don’t care about awards, he don’t care about whoever, he not into that. But he just making his mind up that he really getting ready to put out a solo album. So you can expect a big announcement soon, I want to see the homie’s dreams come true as well,” Ross said of Gunplay.

The Maybach Music Group’s Self Made Volume 2 is available on most digital retail outlets and can be purchased at stores worldwide.
