Hip-Hop Rumor Exclusive: Is Hit-Boy The Next Kanye West?

Rising G.O.O.D. Music producer Hit-Boy has his eyes set on conquering more than just production and is going full steam ahead with a rap career. The producer best known for producing The Throne’s, “N*gga’s In Paris,” and Lil’ Wayne’s, “Drop The World” featuring Eminem and Pusha T, is not shy about proclaiming his desire to be the next big producer turned rap star a la Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, and Dr. Dre.

We were a little skeptical at first, but after hearing Hit-Boy freestyle this morning on Sway in the Morning on Sirius XM radio, he may actually have the chops to cross over and be the next Yeezy!

Check out the freestyle below and let us know your thoughts.

Does Hit-Boy have what it takes to Kanye West the game?

I never got the kanye can rap angle..he lost me after college dropout..after “heard em say” I haven’t heard anything from Kanye worth rewinding to listen to. I respect his fans and their right to crowning him anything they want but me personally I think he traded the foundation of his creativity which was pain and struggle for ego driven pop music..but hey that’s just my two cents…can’t blame him tho look at how his big homie did the same about a decade back.

lol i am feelin that post cuz… it was real insightful… college drop out and late registration were dope to me… graduation was ehhh… but after that its been downhill… look how this nigga came in the game… rockin gap jeans adn old navy shirts… even thoguh he already made bread off his beats, he came in the rap game somewhat on the humble…. his ego got out of conrol, his whole style switched, iam not feelin dude like that anymore… especially after i heard that konsequence and rhymefest been writing rhymes forhimm for a while

      • Lyve Wire

i went to listen to late registration a month or so ago, and was surprised by how bad it sounded. the obvious punches and other quirks that made it cool then are distractions now. and i 100% agree when yall said that his current action contradict his old catalog, and that makes it hard for me to listen too. classics dont die. his ‘classics’ die, imo. therefore, he has none. thats my story and im sticking to it, lol. truth be told, he was never a great rapper; just said ish that other ppl would say, or never thought to say (light skin friend look like michael jackson….). i though that was super clever then; not anymore. same thing with lil waynes word play.

Hey I’ll comment on this prob in a sec but… What’s up with the 2 GAP wearin’ white boys singing up in the right corner? Man I couldn’t find my mute button fast enough!

  • Sosa_Limone

this dude seem like he got decent bars, but its hard for me to get into new rappers now a days, bc the quality of hiphop overall is in major decline

  • $17637591

His raps are ok but his timing is off. Im sorry but He will never be the next kanye. When Kanye started he had a stroy & a level of consciouness. Kanye’s longevity makes him one of the greatest. He composes his music, produces his beats and writes rhymes. One could make a serious argument that he is a genius. Please dont compare this dude to Ye cuz he doesnt copare.
    DETROIT HARD HEADZ

    • Lyve Wire

One could make a serious argument that he is a genius?????
im not getting at you poorichboy, but that comment caught my eye. first, kanye gets way, way too much credit in the production world, from the outside looking in. ok, he came ion with the samples, but he wasnt the first to do it. his style is extremely easy, if you know how to make beats. his team could afford to get rare and popular samples cleared, unlike joe blow that be remaking his beats on youtube. so it appeared that be did some ground breaking ish, when he really didnt. also, i cant think of anybeat beat that he made without a sample….. that for one do not make you a genius. also, kanye stop producing his music entirely after the graduation, i think. he’s been using mike dean, rza, swizz and others, which is cool, but that dont make him a genius. and another thing, he used to rap solely on his beats; not anymore. so what most ppl would automatically say he produced because he’s on it doesnt stand true anymore. music fans know, that his production style sound very similar to bink!’s. your favorite song on the blueprint (the ruler’s back and all i need) was probably bink! and not kanye, same as that devil in a new dress joint. not kanye. again, i’m not going at you bro, but we need to stop throwing that genius word around so freely.

  • Jahb1911

Umm he’s not as good as Kanye was when he first started. So hitboy still has some work to do.. Remember, Kanye was very corny before the car crash. When he dropped thru the wire and then all falls down, that’s when he came in to his own. So you never know.

  • wait pusha t was on drop the world? huh
