(AllHipHop News) Starting today (December 14), there will be a special week-long screening in New York for the new indie film, Yelling To The Sky, featuring an all-star cast that draws from music and previous award-winning movies.
Described as a “coming of age” tale” directed by Victoria Mahoney, Yelling To The Sky boasts an actor lineup that includes Tariq “Black Thought” Trotter of The Roots, Oscar nominated actress Gabourey Sidibe of Precious fame, socialite and celebrity daughter Zoe Kravitz, Antonique Smith from Notorious, and more.
From its plot description, Yelling To The Sky is the story of “Sweetness O’Hara [Kravitz], an introspective and shy inner-city teenager who unsuccessfully tries to quietly blend into the crowded halls of her high school. An increasingly complex home life, and a persistent, growing threat at school, soon carry her into a world of reckless ambivalence.”
Yelling To The Sky will host its one-week limited theatrical release in New York City beginning today (December 14) through next Thursday (December 20).
