(AllHipHop News) Iconic West-Coast rapper Snoop Dogg aka Snoop Lion has landed in Mumbai for a few shows and some fun with the people of India.
Indian media has been up in arms over the Long Beach, California bred and international superstar’s presence, which is the first time Snoop has visited the country.
There is no better example of Hip-Hop’s widespread reach than Snoop Dogg aka Snoop Lion’s constant travels abroad – which at times have included unfortunate run-ins with foreign police over his favorite herbs.
To kick things off Snoop attended an adidas Originals party and afterwards he said he had plans to check the country.
In an interview with the Hindustan Times, Snoop explained that he is familiar with Bollywood, having taken part in the Bollywood movie “Singh Is King” in 2008.
“I’ve never been to India. There are very few places in the world that I haven’t visited, so this is exciting. I think people there will love my music. They already know Snoop Dogg. I hear from fans in India all the time. Plus, I got to work on Singh Is King (2008) with Akshay Kumar a couple of years ago,” Snoop Dogg explained.
While Snoop is still learning about the many ways of Indian culture, he did say that he already had developed a fondness for the country.
“Its a beautiful place with beautiful people around. It is everything what I had expected it to be,” Snoop told reporters at a news conference.
