(AllHipHop News) Rumors of an impending Outkast reunion have gotten louder this past week, when on January 12th, Frank Ocean released a remixed single entitled “Pink Matter” featuring guest verses from Andre 3000 and Big Boi. Fans of the former duo quickly became excited at the prospect of seeing – and hearing – the two of them back together.

But those hopes were dashed with a single statement from Andre 3000, who has always been more than a little reluctant at the thought of getting back together with his old partner in rhyme.

“I never want to mislead our audience – I worried that some would think these were Outkast collaborations,” he told Spin in response to the songs release. “These songs are not Outkast collaborations.”

The message also states that Big Boi’s verse was an after thought and Dre was completely , “surprised to read about these remixes.”

For his part, Big Boi has so far kept quite on the situation, choosing instead to use his Twitter account to promote his performance, alongside Indie pop duo, Phantogram, on the ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live Show’ last night.
