(AllHipHop News) 50 Cent’s SMS Promotions will team with Dibella Entertainment to promote an upcoming boxing event that will be featured on the March 1st edition of ESPN’s Friday Night Fights. SMS’s Billy “The Kid” Dib will defend his IBF Featherweight title against Cuban Olympian and IBF’s number 3 ranked Luis Franco in the main event at MGM Grand at Foxwoods. The card will also include NABF junior middleweight champion Willie Nelson taking on contender Michael Medina. The live broadcast will begin at 9 pm.

50 worked with Top Rank promotions for the classic December 8th fight between Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez, but this will be 50’s first event that he has promoted from start-to-finish. The rapper and business mogul is ready to take on the role as full-time boxing promoter head on to make sure the March 1 event is a success.

“We’re definitely going to have a really good night in entertainment and have both Billy and Franco I believe are going to come on the actual A game,” said 50 according to boxingpulse.com.  “But I expect nothing but the best possible entertainment for the night and I’m going to put my actual energy into marketing this project to make it a success from this point on.”

50’s fighter Billy Dib is committed to making  his boss look good. Dib is training hard to extend his 35-1 record to 36 wins, and he believes 50 Cent is the man to help him do it.

“And as I said, before, you know, I’m not just coming out to win, you know, I’m coming out to (do some) damage. So, you know, I’m coming to make a statement and show the world that 50 Cent run the best featherweight in the world,” says Dib.

While 50 is putting in work  for the Dib-Franco match, he is already looking ahead for future fight opportunities. His next match could include the undefeated and current WBA Super featherweight champion Chris John.

“Yes, I been in communications with Chris John so we’re looking to try and make a fight as soon as possible. I just got to go through, you know, politics, you already know.”

Tickets for the Dib-Franco featured event are expected to go on sale next week at the MGM Grand at Foxwoods Box Office. Visit foxwoods.com for more information.
