AllHipHop.com: What’s good Big Tech. What would you say is your USP? (Unique Selling Proposition) and what sets you apart from other rappers?
Big Tech I believe with me, I have more of a crossover approach, which doesn’t put me in a box to be just another rapper. I appeal to a broader audience and still have the respect from the heavy Hip Hop heads because of my lyrical content. All of my music is about me; It’s who I am, what I’m about, and what I or people around me have been through. My songs come from a very genuine place.
AllHipHop.com: What project are you currently pushing?
Big Tech Well, I just released my new EP entitled “It Was All A Dream”, which is available on my site at www.bigtechlive.com, Itunes, Google Play, and all major online distribution companies. The unique thing about the EP is that there are a number of singles that can be pushed. There is something on the E.P. for everyone’s listening pleasure. It was recorded with the mentality that I wanted the people to be able to just pop it in their deck and listen the whole way through without having to skip a track.
AllHipHop.com: What is your opinion of the current state of the music industry?
Big Tech I like where the music industry is now because its in the hands of the people. There was a time not too long ago where everyone was saying that Hip Hop was dead but then you had artists emerge like J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar and myself who speak about substance in their music. I think the people wanted want to hear more songs with meaning and feeling.
AllHipHop.com: What is your favorite part of your live show? How has it evolved?
Big Tech I’d have to say my favorite part is the crowd interaction. People come to see a show. They want to feel like they know you. I try to include them as much as possible and not just get on stage and rap. You have to give them something to remember you by. Back in the day I would run tracks back to back with no break and just do my thing. But what artist don’t realize is personality will take you a long way. You have to sell yourself to them at all times.
