(AllHipHop News) Julio Acevedo is finally going to be brought to justice after fleeing the scene of a hit and run incident which claimed the life of a couple and their unborn child.

The 44-year-old Acevedo was apprehended by NYPD officers in Bethlehem, PA after a friend arranged for his surrender.

Shortly after 5 p.m. on Wednesday (March 6th), Acevedo surrendered to NYPD officers after awaiting extradition to New York while being held by Pennsylvania State Police.

According to chief spokesman for the New York Police Department Paul Browne, Acevedo has only been charged with fleeing a crime scene, said nothing to the police officers and had no attorney present when arrested.

On Sunday (March 3) Acevedo crashed into a cab with Nachman Glauber and a pregnant Raizel Glauber as his BMW was allegedly going 60 mph.

Acevedo was arrested less than a month prior on February 17th for driving with a blood-alcohol level almost double the .08 legal limit.

Acevedo informed a reporter at WABC/Channel 7 on March 6th that he was speeding to escape gunfire he experienced near Carlton Avenue.

“I was speeding trying to get away because I was scared from someone shooting at me,” Acevedo told reporters. Carlton Avenue was the home of deceased street thug Kelvin “50 Cent” Martin whom Acevedo murdered in 1987.

The man who inspired Curtis Jackson’s rap moniker was affiliated with a few Hip-Hop heavyweights such as Eric B and imprisoned manager Jimmy “Henchman” Rosemond.

Henchman helped tell the story of the deceased stick-up kid in the 2005 DVD “The Infamous Times-Volume 1: The Original 50 Cent”.

The current 50 Cent filed a lawsuit claiming Henchman used unauthorized interviews and failed to give the DVD’s proceed’s to Martin’s family.

However, the two parties eventually reached an undisclosed agreement.
