Snoop Dogg In Trouble With The NCAA For Meeting With College Player

(AllHipHop News) Whether he’s a lion, dog or Rastafarian, Snoop Lion is 1. a celebrity and 2. a huge fan of the USC Trojan college football team. According to reports, Snoop may have participated in an NCAA violation after he allegedly met with prospective running back Silas Redd.

Michigan journalism professor John U. Bacon’s new book Fourth and Long about the inner workings of the Big 10 conference alleges that Snoop Lion was illegally used in the wooing of Redd to join USC. According to the book, In 2012 USC head coach Lane Kiffin flew Redd from Conneticut to California in a Mercedes private jet where he was met with a limo and Snoop Lion.

Redd agreed to transfer from Penn State to USC after that meeting.

The NCAA has extremely strict guidelines on recruiting procedures and using a celebrity to influence a prospective player’s decisions is a violation. However, USC issued a statement refuting the allegations:

Silas Redd has never met Snoop Dogg, much less received a ride from him in any type of vehicle. USC head coach Lane Kiffin picked up Silas from the airport on his recruiting visit

Reports of Snoop Lion’s son, wide receiver Cordell Broadus being offered to play for USC appeared three months before Redd committed to USC.
