Mel-man does the Chronic 2000 beat style, i know he co-produced the album but it makes you wonder if he was the main producer on that album.

YES M.E. did the whole Chronic. Shot out to the HILL

Mel-Man, Scott Storch, Lord Finesse, Mike Elizondo, a couple asian dudes you’ve never heard of did most of the drums, and some unknown white dudes on the guitar. But in the context you’re speaking of Mel, Dre, and Lord Finesse did the “production”.

Actual lord Finesse Just produced 1 track ( the message)
21 track were produced by Dr. Dre & Mel-man.
        Mike Elizondo,Crumo & Cruse did bass,Storch & Kambon Keyboards.
        Hann & Hirano percussion.
Now they did not do all of the sounds, They just helped in some songs.
10 Songs were mixed or looped samples.

Lord Finesse may have only made one beat for the album in that context of produced, I guess I’m not understanding what you mean by “producer”. Quincy Jones is a producer but really doesn’t play instruments on the songs he produced. More like ideas and input. L.F. was in for more than one session and gave ideas on more than one song. People aren’t always credited on their work. Wikipedia can be misleading. For instance, On the actual ALBUM liner notes, (I know because I have the album) Royce isn’t even credited as writing “The Message” even though he said he did. But on Wiki he’s in the track listing. There used to be a DVD called “The Chronic Sessions” that had like 6 sessions of songs, “Whats The Difference?, B***h N****z,” and a few more but I cant find even a reference to it on the net. I still have my “Death Row Uncut” on VHS though… These kids are missing out thinking everything can be found by googling it… but I digress.
