Daily Debate: Lord Jamar Talks Mister Cee – Do You Agree/Disagree?

Lord Jamar is a legend from the rap group Brand Nubian. He’s official. But he’s been raising a ruckus with his comments on Mister Cee and the notion of homosexuality in Hip-Hop. He says it has NO place in Hip-Hop. Listen to the video and let me know what you think?

  • Brindle

leave it to the 90’s to keep it real instead of trying to get along with anyone and anything… the moral compass is returning, hopefully….

  • HipHop is nothing more than a form of expression… Thats like saying whites have no place in Hiphop.. or old people have no place in Hiphop.. Anyone with a voice has a place here. Gay, straight, young, old, violent or peaceful.

    • Freebe Jackson

phedaphiles? dirty cops? rapist? they all have a place in hiphop?

      • you dont think a nigga that has said a rap has also fucked a 17 year old?

      • 17 = Legal in Pa

      • Furious Styles

Dirty Cops= Rick Ross, Rapist= Mystical, Woman Beater= Biggie & Treach. People have accepted an embraced rappers who have done much worse things. Biggie had rhymes that were REALLY gay “You look so good I’ll suck on your daddy’s dick” -“Me and My Bitch”. My point is if someone has contributed so much to the culture, who cares what they do with their dick as long as it isn’t harming another person or against that person’s will. To be concerned with what another man does with his penis in his spare time is kinda gay if you ask me.

      • Freebe Jackson

and its up to you to decide what you will support and go for… i think thats what Lord Jamar means when he says that gay shit dont have a place in hip hop…his opinion and he he wont rock with or co sign that shit or pretend to be cool with it…of course he can’t ban a person from hip hop….to be gay and front like you straight and lie and live a double life is kinda gay if you ask me….

      • Furious Styles

So you stopped listening to Biggie after that song came out?

      • Freebe Jackson

no because that was a lyric and nothing came out that big did anything like that …..i dont listen to that song tho and i never said i had a problem with mr. cee and his lifestyle….i’ll listen to Frank Ocean as long as he aint talking about having sex with a man…ill listen to Mr. Cee spin…

      • Mr Cee wrote that Biggie line.

      • RichFromBX

seriously, you’re comparing Mr. Cee to a kid toucher and a rapist? btw, Mystikal was welcomed back and performing again so yeah, I guess rapist do have a place in hip hop…

      • Freebe Jackson

can you comprehend when you read? in no way did i compare mr. see to an adult that touches a child or a rapist….his statement is that everyone has a place in hiphop……so im asking if he is saying he would accept and/or support anyone in the hiphop culture even if they touch kids, rape women, etc

      • RichFromBX

        I get it, you were just being a douche…my bad…btw, it’s Mr Cee…”see” how were wrong there…

      • Freebe Jackson

yea my auto correct didnt agree with mr. CEE

      • Chris Stokes, Officer Ricky, Mac Maine

      • Freebe Jackson

so when you hear about these dudes and the shit that they do or did…do you continue to support them? if not you feel like they shouldnt be in hiphop……and chris stokes is not hiphop…lmao

      • I never supported them dudes b4 the fuggery.

Personally, I don’t care if Mr Cee likes to Puff on Peters, anymore than Puffy Puffing on young Usher’s Peter, same with Officer Ricky, it’s the lying that makes me raise 1 eyebrow like the Roc at fools.

I know some weight lifting C.O.’s that would Fugg up any thug dude, and have been that way before they became C.O.’s, know dudes getting booked from the police academy for some off the wall thug ‘chet, if you can’t keep it 100%, keep it moving. IMHO

    • Brindle

white and gay are two different things…

      • really? the point jamar is trying to make sounds alot like the points whites made 60 years ago…. “niggers have no place here…” hate is hate homie….

      • Brindle

Gays, nurses, thieves, truck drivers, etc. is not a race

      • bottom line is you hate someone because of the way they think as opposed to what they have done to you. I cant hate nobody that never did shit to me….

      • maya

He hates them because they are brave and he is too scared to do what he really wants to do.

      • MR Cee is brave?

        You stupid.

      • maya

He is brave. He made his dream come true while you waste your life making comments on blogsites 24/7/365

      • Freebe Jackson

getting low with male prostitutes and getting caught 4 times before you admit it is brave? lying to your wife and kids about your sexual preference is brave? if all these down low niggaz came out the closet and stopped all the fronting it wouldnt be as much homophobia in the world…two tough acting closet gays can be their self and stop lashing out on the world because they cant deal with their sexuality ……. 2 niggaz beefing over some super macho bullshit can cut it out and admit they got a crush on each other and real men can move on with out hearing all these sissies whining….

      • maya

I’m not talking about Mr. Cee. And Mr. Cee is not married. Gossiping ass.

      • Freebe Jackson

not once did i mention that fruit loop in my post

      • maya

        shut up.

      • Freebe Jackson

you mad cause you dumb or you dumb cause you mad

      • maya

LOL @ you editing the post after you were wrong. U A chump nigga. lol

      • Freebe Jackson

i didnt edit anything weirdo….beat it jack!

      • maya

You can lie to yourself – but you can’t lie to me. I know you better than you know yourself.

      • Freebe Jackson

and what type of name is Maya for a nigga anyway?

      • maya

        A beautiful one.

      • Brindle

that i agree with that 100% but i don’t hate gays, just disagree with the propaganda…

      • I have never done drug deals with Rick Ross, never went to buy guns with TI and never went crusing thru the city with Mister Cee.. I go to them niggaz for music only.. what they do on their own time is their business.. Who am I to judge?

      • In Hip Hop, you owe it too your fans to keep it real.

Whatever it is. If Mr Cee was real about sucking c*cks, it wouldn’t have been an issue.

      • maya

They don’t owe you nosey bitches ANYTHING but music. Get lives of your own.

      • Fugg You & their music B’ish!

      • Freebe Jackson

not really….he saying gays have no place in the forefront of hiphop….its gay people …openly gay people involved in hiphop …..so its not the same as what racist white people were saying

  • junj03

I am 100% sure Inmadopuroz voted for Mr. Cee LOL!

  • maya

When it comes down to it, it’s really not up for debate, and nobodies opinion really even matters. Homosexuality has ALWAYS been a part of Hip Hop. Period.

The irony is how all these fools talking about homosexuality has no place, yet they gossiping like bitches. Bullsh!it ass ni66as.

    • Brindle

homosexuality has never been a part of Hip Hop. if thats the case, then everything is a part of everything… don’t make general statements

      • maya

Who the f ck are you to tell me what kind of statements to make? You probably not even from new York. What do you know about hip hop? Hip Hop has always had gay fans. Hip hop has always had gay rappers. Hip hop has always had gay producers. Hip hop has always had gay executives. Hip hop has always had gay stylists, video directors, etc, etc, etc. All you know is the IMAGE. The bullshit on the cover. You don’t know REAL Hip hop.

      • Brindle

New York? you mean that place Kendricks the king of, lol…you’re obviously gay or a female that enjoys their company, which is cool, for you… but that whole paragraph was general and wishful thinking… your saying hiphop aint real unless it has gays involved… see how generalizing works, you gotta use your brain more than your emotions

      • maya

You a bandwagon jumping FRAUD and you are not even really Hip Hop. Country bumpkin ass.

      • Brindle

gay is the new bandwagon… and I’m from Cali, what did i tell u about generalizing

      • maya

UR Gay. You have dreams of men.

      • Brindle

        you have dreams of me

  • RichFromBX

so we can discriminate based on sexual preference but not race, got it!…lets not forget these comments are coming from the guy who was paid to wrestle naked with other men in a shower on ‘Oz’ – perhaps it was “acting”, perhaps his his d!ck jumped with happiness a little when he read the script…who knows…

    • Brindle

how does sexual “preference” (key word) get compared to race???

      • RichFromBX

it’s not a comparison per se but the standard that Jamar is setting is that it’s okay to exclude and discriminate based on being gay but not okay to say the same thing related to someone being black, chinese or whatever

yes, it’s a preference…when you when you choose and desire one thing over another your prefer it making that thing your preference and keyword is one word.

      • Brindle

i don’t look at being gay the same as being black or chinese nor do i agree w/ mistreating them

      • RichFromBX

it’s not exactly the same, of course not, but hate is hate and discrimination is discrimination…people can’t say it’s okay in one place but not okay in another…

      • Brindle

gay is not close to the same… i agree that they should not be discriminated against “as humans”. that’s why i don’t hate them. i disagree with their movement and their actions… imagine the womens lib movement not fighting for women but for those who are part of the womens lib movement… thats what this gay movement is doing

      • So if you have a business, and on the walk to work, or walking the dog after work, and see your employee smoking crack out of a home made soda can pipe, would you fire him for being a goop?

      • RichFromBX

if part of the employment agreement is that employees are to remain drug free and subject to firing if found to be using then yes, if the company does not have a drug policy then you can’t…also, there’s a difference between smoking crack and smoking pole

are you suggesting that drug use is comparable to being gay?

      • No, but, well, yes, in the sense that anyone who will suck on a glass 4-9-3-11, will suck on a flesh one, if the circumstances are right.

If there is no policy about drugs, and dude is a goop, would you trust him as the face of your business?

This is not to equate moral issues with being gay, but some folks aren’t comfortable with a raging homosexual at the front desk, anymore than they are with a Black.

Mr Cee’s actions could hurt Hot 97 if they weren’t in the business of ratings.

        A Fortune 500 Company?
        Sports franchise?

        He’s finished. IE: Marv Albert

      • hoeyuno

I was gonna say something similar to dude about gays being hated on for being gay is not far off from not being excepted cause of race but then I thought about it and at least in the City, Downtown type shit its cool to be gay. if you got a office job in any major westerized city your gonna be working with at least one gay dude. Every hot chick DT has at least one gay friend they go shopping with, its almost like the puppy in the purse but a grown man. Gays have been excepted.

      • Average dude doesn’t care, it’s funk faking that fuggz them up!

    • wickedjones

      jumped with happiness. lol

  • Brindle

its a culture shift and a lot of opinions that are for hiphop and gay sh!t are pushed by the gay propaganda of the last 10-15 years… people under 30 have seen so much of it that being gay and whites calling themselves the “n-word” is now ok along with many other things. gay’s not a race, its an action. no one should be mistreated but there’s nothing wrong with being against an action. GREAT JOB LORD JAMAR, STAND UP.

    • maya

Gay is not an action. It is an attraction. Even if you never have sex with the same sex, you can still be gay. There are gay virgins, just like there are straight virgins. Even if you have a quick passing attraction for the same sex, you are gay or bisexual. Even if you have a sexual dream about the same sex, you are gay or bisexual.

      • Brindle

I’ll kinda agree with that i think but an attraction is not a race of people… some people are born attracted to stealing and others are born attracting to giving… how you are born doesn’t make things right. they need to control their innate dirty urges.

      • maya

So you were born attracted to being an as_hole?

Even if you control your “innate urges” – you still gay. Be happy.

      • Brindle

attracted to being an as_hole is better than being attracted to an as_hole… if you’re born with the desire to steal, it don’t make it right…

      • maya

Face it. You are gay. You try controlling your urges but it comes out one way or another. When you learn to accept it, come to terms with it, stop caring about what other people think, you will be a happier person. Life is too short to hide from yourself. Mark my words. One day you will realize…

      • Brindle

        u just mad…

      • maya

I want you to be happy. Love yourself.

      • Are you a female or gay dude?

You stay pushing the gay agenda. FOH

      • maya

        What’s a gay agenda?

      • TALK_BOSS

        Probably a hermaphrodite

      • maya

You losers will NEVER have the chance to find out. Believe that.

      • TALK_BOSS

I won’t lose any sleep shim lol

      • maya

        You flatter me!

      • johnblacksad

        tsss… that’s not lady like

      • johnblacksad

maya been around for a minute… SHE doesn’t post everyday but I remember her from way back

      • He / She is still a (>> In Judah’s voice:) ” A 2/3rds ham & egger!”

      • DirtyHarriett

Not better than being attracted to a females asshole.

  • Chris

Ultimately, this is that man’s opinion. If you don’t like it, don’t give it any of your attention.

  • Zino

He is on Point cosign to the utmost this HipHop OG…

  • Wavpin

Hiphop is the culture of acceptance … If we take it for what it is… the answer is yes… The question we should ask ourselves is ” Should HipHop participate in the feminization of the Black man ? ” The answer is no…

    • maya

stfu Hip Hop has black men killing each other at epidemic rates. You worried about “feminization?” Get your priorities right.

      • n n

Hip hop has black men killing each other? That sounds like bill o Reilly sound bite. Lol I doubt music is killing anyone and what music are white men listening to since the crime rate is out of control in the white community as well.

      • maya

Most white boys have fathers. Most black boys don’t. Many of them are raised by hip hop. That’s where they learn their morals.

      • Physical Evidence

Maya I really don’t understand who you can blame a music for black on black crime? Because black on black murders existed before Hip-Hop even came along. Back in the 1960s. Who you think shot Malcolm X? Who and what type of music can we blame then R&B? Marvin Gaye?

      • maya

But black on black violence wasn’t as bad back then and life was much worse back then. Crime is worse now and a lot of these kids have it made compared to kids in the 60’s – 80’s.

      • n n

Lol that’s not true you really are sounding silly and young.

      • maya

I’m giving you idiots a taste of your own medicine.

      • n n

A taste of what your father left you so you think everyone has no father..lol yeah ok .you are not hurting black men.lol

      • scullyson

Oh Wow you are really smart….You my friend are the most intelligent individual on this board….Very knowledgeable…..F^&%$# Genius you are….LOL…smfh…How long did it take you to come up with that info ?

      • Mongo Slade

        FOH!!!

      • IToldYoMommaYouAintSh_t

Thats why they shootin each other man…cuz ain’t no real men around to raise em

  • Does anybody else think its ironic that the thing Lord Jamar seems to hate the most is also the only reason he ever gets any press at all?? #Ultimateirony

  • IToldYoMommaYouAintSh_t

Who cares…hip hop is gay and so is the world. Straight is about to be the new minority and that is the way the devil wants it. Yup I said it.

  • Homegrown Chicks

    He’s right. It doesn’t have a place.

  • wickedjones

“Well here’s the thing. Being a woman, I only really have
access to the, uh… equipment, what, thirty, forty-five minutes a
week. And that’s on a good week. How can I be expected to have the same
expertise as people who *own* this equipment, and have access to it
twenty-four hours a day, their entire lives.” Elaine from Seinfeld.

  • Physical Evidence

I don’t understand why people make a big deal out of the fact a emcee is gay or not. If you don’t like it, don’t listen to it. Plan and simple, and for somebody to say they don’t belong in a music genre because they are gay. Really? who the fu k are they to say who belongs and who doesn’t?

    • maya

You’ve got to look deeper to understand why. They are actually working through the ambivalence they have about their own desires.

  • hoeyuno

Shit dont effect my hip hop. Why you would have to speak out againts it is beyond my thinking.. Theres a million rappers out there and enough good ones for everyones taste. If you dont like frank ocean cause hes gay dont download his shit…Simple…

  • King_James

Hip-Hop is rebellion music…what could B more Hip Hop than being Gay?

    • Mongo Slade

      FOH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • King_James

Its a rhetorical question…ya’ bitch!(said in my Big Sean voice lol)

  • grftswf

This is lame. You kids need to go to bed!

  • flatkush brooklyn

I agree i think flex a homo to

  • Reblogged this on On Blast.

  • Hypestyles

Hopefully Brand Nubian comes out with a new group album soon. Besides the self-production, get producers like DJ Premier, Lord Finesse, C-Doc, Johnny Juice.

Regarding the Mr. C angle: people’s private lives will continue to go on, whatever people feel about LGBT. Maybe the two of them will never come to an “understanding” about this; but maybe that’s beside the point. The four elements of hip-hop were more or less birthed out of the dynamic of expression and counter-expression. An MC can spit his 16 bars from their perspective– the next person can spit their 16 from another perspective. A b-boy dancer can bust out their moves, and the next person says “later for that” and busts out their moves. A graffiti artist puts up their brand, another artist puts up theirs elsewhere. A DJ cuts and scratches a routine, and another DJ does their routine.

    The culture endures.

  • You mean to tell me that after all the bullsh!t that they allowed into the Hip-Hop genre throughout the years and now to simple act as if Hip-Hop is so organized that one should follow rules? EFF you, Hip-Hop sold it’s soul to the devil ions ago, no point in turning back now.

    • Darren Myt Collins

you have a very valid point……

      • Guest

        You’re a fag

      • Darren Myt Collins

Like to Introduce everybody here to ANTOINE…the type of nigga Lord Jamar is talking about!

      • Guest

No one needs an introduction house boy. I am the most respected poster on these boards. Shuffle along and fetch your shinebox for me. When you’re done you can stand in my front lawn holding a lantern. Chump.

  • scullyson

Props to Lord Jamar. Ive never heard him mince his words and what he just said makes pure f%^&$* sense like it or not. Everybody is entitled to their opinion.

  • Matt Swan

The LGBT has a place in Hip Hop as long as they are fans of the music and their money is green like the rest of ours. Some of todays pop rappers cater to them rather than alienate them. In the end, do you even know or even care if the dude or chic next to you at the show is different than you? Are you going to pay that much attention..nope. Get over it, It’s nothing anyone can change, and if they respect you and your heterosexual lane, then the same should go out to them.

  • Tony G.

Some of ur favorite rappers are in the closet..its no secret..its no surprise…I agree with Lord but at the end of the day what these rappers do don’t effect my life…if theres music that I like im going to listen to it..and if the rapper/producer/writer or whatever happens to be gay then so be it.

  • Freezamon

For You Dumb Asses in this post…He’s not Gay Bashing..He is talking about Hetero Bashing…and how the Powers that be are pushing this gay agenda and using strong black men and black culture to do it. Strong Black actors wearing dresses, Skinny jeans, Pants hanging down (prison fag code) and the total feminization of the black man. And no..It is not ok.

  • CHICAGO

What makes people think they’re entitled to their own opinion, facts dictate validity…. your opinions are motionless. Lord jamar statin facts!!!!!!!!

  • count_210

    Mr.nycee like boy pu$$y

  • Hip hop doesn’t need any gay people, it needs an understanding of the struggles in the hoods that black people thrive in. We cant achieve this by having gay gangstas doing drive-byes while sucking dick.
