Joe Budden: Ya'll Never Quote Any Of The N*ggas Y'all Call The Best

(AllHipHop News) Since the founding of Hip Hop, artists, fans, and the media have debated about which rapper is wearing the crown at that particular moment with everyone having their own criteria for determining the best in the game.

The outspoken Joe Budden took to Twitter recently to give his insight into what he feels should be the final judgement on who is sitting in the throne. According to Budden, the simple question that has to be answered is- Does the rapper have quotable lyrics?

Joe Budden

Budden will provide the opportunity for Hip Hop fans to possibly quote some of his lyrics after the New Jersey native’s BET Hip Hop Awards cypher with fellow Slaughterhouse members airs on October 15th.

The Mood Muzik emcee also announced in August that he will be dropping the Some Love Lost EP and All Love Lost LP in the near future.

Budden has been actin like a d**k recently, but I cosign the hell out of this…. I am going to ask my friends for some quotes tomorrow actually, I can hear the silence now.

  • Saruman

Joe Budden is one of the most underrated rappers in the game, but his social life sucks. True, there aren’t to many saying anything worth repeating these days.

    • ItGoesDownINtheDM

      • Steveopa

We had a perfect game until it was Jim Joyced. Jim Joyce is the baseball empire that blew a perfect game by calling a batter safe who was actually out.

    • ItGoesDownINtheDM

actually his social life is probably one of the best things he got going for himself !! lol

  • ItGoesDownINtheDM

I looked him the eye, and then I shot him in his face
Dad said, always look a man in his eyes before you kill’em

  • PhilTheGreat

Let me be honest… I know Joey has bars yet I cannot quote a one. Lol I’ve heard so many songs that you have to make a straight classic for me to recite you. I can still recite every word to Coolio’s “Gangsta’s Paradise”, but it doesn’t mean anything as far as comparing him and Joe’s skill levels. Other rappers are better than Drake, but he is the king of taking things people say day to day and moments people live day to day and putting it to a song. His music is more “relatable” on a different scale than most “hip hop” artists.

    • couldn’t have said it better…can’t think of one Quotable Joey line at all…but we all know he’s dope….he set himself up with that one lol

      • AbstractMind

But he’s not saying he’s to tier, pac had quotables, em, biggie, krs-1, all had quotables that we remember not this 5 min memory shit now, bars we still remember now

      • i think he considers himself top tier, Joey is pretty vocal about being the dopest ever even though no one really agrees

      • AbstractMind

I think he does , but he’s just not saying it to avoid the backlash, Old Budden was nice this new shit…ehhhhh

      • I Like New Joey a Lil Better Personally…It Sound More Modern vs Dated Like The Old Joey

      • AbstractMind

Depends for me , The album was trash the mixtape was better, No more songs like NBA never broke again…..hell no more real , less filler

      • I Actually Was Listening To NBA Last Night Lol…I Like It Personally But It Sounds More Like a Wiz Track than Joe Budden Track

Hip Hop used to be about skills now it is about fake image. I fu*ks with Joe because he is real not photo shopped like about of these artist are.

  • After reading some of the comments, Joes argument isn’t really valid. A king has quotable lyrics I agree….I still think Nas is King of NY rap, nothing to do with commercial appeal but his resume shows proof. Any of these hip pop artist can be quoted but it doesn’t mean they are crowned.

    • PhilTheGreat

You’re pretty much on point with the Nas comment. Nas is that dude, I live in Tx, but I’m more of a Hip Hop head than just listening to that fruity booty bubble gum rap. I can listen to Nas love and respect it. I tried to get my homie to listen to Nas and he was like “I just can’t do it, because it isn’t anything crunk or exciting.” Nas has to be the most consistent rapper ever though.

      • That’s sad your homie can’t listen to some Nas tracks. We all have our preferred tastes in music tho, Nas could drop an album in 5 years from now and still the fans will be checking for it like he was new to the game.

  • Fernando Leonard

The argument is valid…in the late 90’s I could quote Canibus all day with that “I speak in frequencies dogs would have trouble hearing”……Joe’s issue is that what he considers a top tier rapper is not what most of yall consider. The best response to Kendrick Lamar lyrically was by some rapper few have heard of and probably few would like because they’d say he was too lyrical!
He’s going to lose this argument all day but he proves a point…back in the day you liked an artist so much…listened to what they were saying so closely……had to rewind a tape back a couple of times (yup I said tape) because you couldn’t believe what that person said.
    Those days are GONE! 🙁
