Lord Jamar Threatens Yelawolf, Yelawolf Willing To Confront Him

(AllHipHop News) Lord Jamar’s recent comments on white rappers may have just placed the Hip Hop legend into an impending physical confrontation. After Yelawolf responded to Lord Jamar likening white rappers to “guests” in Hip Hop, Lord Jamar sent inflammatory comments towards Yelawolf and his fanbase.

Yelawolf, in an interview with VladTV, stated that while Hip Hop was founded by Black people, many other races have contributed to it and that is a fact that Lord Jamar has to accept. Lord Jamar took to his personal Twitter account to voice his denouncement of Yelawolf’s comments and send a threat:

Lord Jamar did not only reserve his inflammatory remarks to Yelawolf, but also dissed Yela’s “redneck fans” and accused them of incest:

These defamatory remarks were not met with deaf ears(or eyes) as Yelawolf soon after responded on his Facebook account. In a lengthy post, the Shady Records artist states that if Lord Jamar is interested in a physical confrontation, then he can meet up with Yela at any of the upcoming tour dates:

I guess I can understand that Lord Jamar is Nubian ’til the death of him, ya know, but wasn’t it a bit too far?

I respect The Wolf for standing on his own two feet and clapping back, but it’s also coming from someone who has been in this rap game for decades. Wolf has only been here for the moment, feel me?

    I don’t know. I don’t know who dun goof’ed.

    • PBM1986

Wolf may not have been popular that long but he been here for a min… Dude is 33… And he from BAMA… Them whitebois dont mind fightin…

    • U gotta watch wolf’s interview he wasnt disrespectful at all…he made a great point in his response.

    • Casor_G

Jamar punk @$$ just trying to get some pub. Brand Nubian wasn’ty legendary to me. Just some more over rated East Coast rappers spitting some overly complicated garbage that doesn’t make sense to anyone with above average intelligence.

I think Yelawolf is trash too, but let that man handle his bidness

  • yomamma

I swear him and Papoose are like the bitter baby mommas of hip hop right now, both of them were/are dope emcees, but between pap taking shots at popular rappers trying to get some buzz, and Lord Jamar with this shit… they look like they’re just reaching for more shine and the shit ain’t even necessary

    • Escobar

I feeeelzzz you on this one though. I mean, why not just drop a track or two and become relevant again, instead of beefing with some other next dude in the game? Music has taken it’s turn for the worse if becoming relevant in the music industry is shots through Twitter.

    • Dave Williams

thats what im saying stop being bitter because they dont want to sound like New York. let them do them it aint hip hop its mainstream molly swagg rap so let them be

  • ccwaterbound32

now if dude would’ve took the high road instead of saying “suck my cracker balls” i would’ve been a bit more understanding but that’s just asking for a fight… i say they meet up and the best man wins! if they got some animosity on they chest like that they might as well do a round and be done with the shit.

  • ccwaterbound32

oh and to all the white folks who may comment you are guests in this shit you aint contribute shit because if your white rappers did they would put REAL commentary in their records, you would acknowledge what’s going on with race relations, your white rappers would give back to the disenfranchised communities where this music was intended to represent. you would offer scholarships, mentor ships and other types of outlets for disenfranchised youth, you would attempt to bring people together vs tearing them apart! and can’t no one dispute what im saying because look at the fans they represent. ever since eminem’s album been about to drop look at all the blogs they got these racist ass white folks posting disrespectful photos of black people or randomly calling blacks some derogatory name altogether. ill believe white people have contributed to the culture once race relations have improved between everyone until then F**K YA’LL and stay in your places.

  • Truth Powell

Lord Jamar played himself because just a couple days ago there was a vid on here of him saying people are allowed to disagree cuz of freedom of speech and blah blah. So why does he want to take it there with Yelawolf? Yela’s not a
punk either Lord Jamar done fucked up this time.

  • King Kredible

I’m Godbody, but Jamar needs to get a life. He’s accomplished far too much in his career and life to be embarrassing himself by acting like a 12 year-old.

    • cromthelaughinggod7

Prove you are Godbody! You are a lying white boy don’t play with the nation of gods and earths. It could cost you physically. If you were you would know he is speaking truth. Right and exact! Where are you from and who is your enlightener? What is your attribute and physical degree? How is he acting 12. Why would you not overstand what he speaks? He just made a statement that is true.

      • DJ7

He can’t answer that b/c he is fronting

      • King Kredible

Ya’ll some clowns. I was quoting 120 before there was an internet. And SHOWING AND PROVING in MECCA! I deal with actual fact. You phonies are wisdom knowledge. Kick rocks!!!

      • DJ7

        I don’t believe you…stop faking

      • King Kredible

How you see today’s reality in mathematics? I see GOD all being born to BUILD or DESTROY!!! You clowns are DEVILS!

      • DJ7

Answer the brothas question above….you’re on a public forum speaking ill of an elder GOD…where do they do that at?

      • ZUBU

I don’t pretend too be Godbody cause I’m a grown man and I don’t play Gods and Earths , but I do have a little knowledge of self. I want to see that imposter answer the God’s question, show and prove.

      • DJ7

I feel you ZUBU…The nation is where my quest for KOS began ….many many moons ago I might add..and I will forever be grateful for the knowledge I obtained while in the Nation b/c it was a good starting point b.u.t. trust and believe the quest didn’t end there….I know this dude is a fraud b/c he attacked my comment instead of addressing cromthelaughinggod7’s more specific one…why is that?

    • DJ7

Stop fronting you troglodyte…you are not GOD…

  • Lord Jamar been washed up since like the 1800s. Ain’t nobody got time for that

  • ccwaterbound32

go on sohh and check out they blog posts you see black men in homosexual memes you see random posts about n**er this N**er that… im sure there are some whites who are cool and like black people but unfortunately there are far more whites who despise us then the ones who like us… i mean you white folks got everything now you want to RULE hip hop i say f**k that not this we’re keeping hip hop i don’t care if your kind buys up our records because YOU YOURSELVES are the global minority and our music appeals to POC all over the world! most of you white folks don’t care about our issues you don’t care about our troubles and turmoil but you got no problem talking like us, walking like us, using up our STYLE and whatever else we create! then some of you so called non prejudice types who be like “i got black friends” be the main ones SLUMMING you hang out with blacks just to see whats hot and you go back to your communities and SELL IT and make money and the ORIGINATORS of it DON’T GET SHIT!!!

    • cromthelaughinggod7

I agree 100 percent look at worldstar the majority of the post are racist whites. Yet they love that site. They have racist pics because they can hide on that site. The ones that are hating saying he is washed up are white people on here. Bitter 20 year old white kids like bonasses. GTFOH! I agree with Lord Jamar. His statement was taken out of context. If it wasn’t for us black people grand master melly mel, Caz and so forth you white kids would not be on this site hiding or there would be no Eminem. We are the founders it is our culture. Yes you can rap and it is not a crime but just remember the foundation. Pay homage it represented and still does the black struggle. This is understood by Eminem, Ra the rugged man all of the really dope mcs etc. So please they know and listened to Brand Nubian. If you can’t name any songs you are probably under 20 or just not a true head. If you don’t know what head means then you shouldn’t comment.

  • ccwaterbound32

if white people love hip hop so much CONTRIBUTE AS LITTLE AS POSSIBLE! if yall do that we’ll be BEST OF FRIENDS i swear on a stack of bibles we’ll like you more! JUST LEAVE HIP HOP ALONE!!! GO DO JAZZ GO DO ROCK (even though that’s a black music genre you f**ked up) ANYTHING BUT HIP HOP! LEAVE IT ALONE!!! FUBU!!! yall remember what that meant right? FOR US BY US!

  • Aaron Davis

this is stupid. Hip-Hop is universal and this culture/music is not designed for one specific racial group. I mean just go watch videos of any of these rappers sold out concerts/tours and you’ll see plenty of white ppl who paid lots of money to see Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Drake, Nicki Minaj, Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar etc. White ppl have been the financial support for hip-hop ever since it became mainstream lol Just look at the black median income vs the white median income & you’ll clearly see that they’re the financial source behind hip-hop as fans..Hip-hop know;s no color

  • white people are guests in hiphop but he goes to a white deejay to get his opinion out….. o_O

  • Quintin Williams

Lord Jamar is WRONG. I’m sure he won’t apologize for his comments, so he should think before making comments in the future. Honestly speaking, if white people are interested in Hip Hop than that means they love our style, charcter and lyrics that we provide to music. Race really should’nt be a facter

  • JerZeBoy

Lord Jamar has been poppin off a lot lately, his old a$$ will get stomped if he shows up at a Yelawolf concert, it ain’t no sit back and smoke concert I will tell you that and Im not even a fan of Yela to be honest

    • Thats the whole point, he’s not going to show up at a YelaWolf set. Wolf wouldn’t even have to lift a finger. The rabid ass fans would do it for him…

      • JerZeBoy

        exactly

  • TALK_BOSS

Smh @ the comments below……mufukkas is too sensitive these days….lord jamar speakin that truth….most don’t stand for shit and fall for anything. ….I miss the old ahh days….idk who these wierdos posting now. …maybe I’m too old for this

      • justus182

First of all stupid little kids like you are the problem with hip hop right now as it is. This stupid generation gap “old” vs “young” nonsense…hip hop is the only genre of music where anything over the age of 25 is considered “old”. Little ignorant kids like yourself growing up listening to such horrid bastardizations of hip hop and thinking you have something to do with this culture? Please. While Lord Jamar is being a real childish fool himself right now, here comes your little dumb ass talking about something that has nothing to do with the issue at hand at all. clown.

      • Bodie

        kill yaself

You might die in a car accident @bodie . When I go to shows these cats commenting are no where at shows but on worshiping to be down cats like me in the club or cyphers. This is all internet talk.

        Respect

  • Bodie

Old ass clown, sit yo old ass down!! Dam he been talking about everybody else other than his new project, that no one is looking for.

  • I guess i’m a redneck, cause I’m a Yeller fan. That being said, I’m also a “Punks jump Up To Get Beat Down” fan. This is one that Lord Jamar can’t win. Not physically in the sense, but because everyone who supports HIP-HOP now is pretty much and always have been white. Now by support, I mean music sales, downloads, concert fix, ect….I do take offense however to yeller making the statement that HIP-HOP has gotten better since “White Rappers” entered the building. That’s some bull, ya’ll still corny as Nebraska. I mean come on, that new EMINEM CD is hard to listen to. PERSONALLY, I’m just a fan of good banging music, I don’t care if the GREAT KAHLI made it! Truth be told, there have been a lot of corny ass rap groups that have come out of the east, i.e., Cellar Dwellers, Grave Diggers, JA RU the Damaga, I could go on. We have all been wack at some point. But who am I to say it just because it sucks ass to me. The next mark might like it…

    • cromthelaughinggod7

Cella Dwellas, Grave Diggas, Corny? Jeru corny? The sun rises from the east corny album? You are a lame? Especially owning a wolf album. You got to be white. Tell me what songs of wolf are better than the sun rises from the east or 6 feet deep.

      • Sean Taylor

        Jeru is far from corny.

This dude must be 15 yr old souja boy fan or whoever young idiot is poppin.

    • ║WoLFGaNG$TA↑||

cella dwellas n jeru are whack? gtfoh, u r not Hip Hop son

    • Galactus

jeru wack?? cella dwellas?? naah son, sit down…

  • Yellawolf actually had the best response, if u havent watched it you really should…more or less he referenced the person who builds a house then other ppl move in and make changes to it, and then they move and the next person move in and add on as well…meaning hip hop was started in NY by blacks, but you had Pun, Fat Joe, Pitbull etc who brought that latin aspect to it, eminem, vanilla ice, beastie boys etc who added the white element to it, carribeans, west coast, south, mid west etc all contributed to it and made it what it is today, so this Lord Jamar nigga really needs to stfu because his theory is dumb as hell…that garbage ass old school music they made couldnt stand the test of time…i never even heard of him before the comment and cant name one Brand Nubian track.

    • TALK_BOSS

Punks jump up to get beat down…..love me or leave me alone….one for all……SLOW DOWN??? Wow I must be old

      • Idk not one of those songs boss and im 30 years old lol and im a music junkie…just never got into old school hip hop outside of LL, nothing before 2pac really stuck aside from Dre and Snoop, and Bone Thug

      • TALK_BOSS

I hear u…..I’m only 35 but u gotta check that all for one….that changed the game on beats….it was simple but epic at the same damn time….sadat x was on that joint…..grand puba….youtube all for one…..slow down…..edog can I get some assistance here lol

      • TALK_BOSS

I think they did punks jump up on in living color

      • I think they did too…im familiar with theyre name as a group but not the individuals or theyre music

      • But honestly i dont even wanna check out theyre music because of Lord Jamar…im the type of person who buys into the artist to support they’re music, like K Michelle is a hell of a singer but i wont support her music because the way she comes off as a person isnt likeable…so dude fucked it up for Brand Nubian for people who think like me.

      • TALK_BOSS

        I respect that

      • Omar

You don’t know hip-hop. Another one of these clowns who think rap started with Tupac’s mediocre rhymes. Get outta here dumb ass!

      • Puss ass nigga what the f*ck are u talkin about…if your stupid ass read what was said clearly no one said that hip hop started with 2 pac…go find somebody to play with u bitch ass nigga and try to actively read vs takin one line and turning it into what u wanted it to be

      • ║WoLFGaNG$TA↑||

u are not Hip Hop bro. How are you gonna say that they are old school garbage music, when the rappers u idolize stand on their shoulders? If u got into Hip Hop in late 90’s that’s cool, but U never did the research and found out about the other artist in the past that made it what it was? Straight up, u are NOT Hip Hop, maybe u r a rap fan…..but u r not Hip Hop son.

      • I never said that i was a hip hop fan…i am a fan of music all around…and yes rap was better than hip hop to me…and me saying that old school hip hop was garbage, its my opinion just as some feel like soth music is garbage and i think otherwise, its not the most lyrical but neither was alot of the old school music i.e. Rappers Delight, These are the Breaks, etc i never cared for the boom pap type production so thats why alot of new york old school never stuck with me…i like good production.

      • Keep it 100 though when was the last time you heard a Brand Nubian song on the radio…or played a Brand Nubian song yourself? Thats why i said the old school music wouldnt stand the test of time because they still play old dre songs, cube songs, snoop, pac, big, ll, slick rick…old school nas etc…u never hear rakim songs, kool g rap, eric sermon, Leaders of the new school may get played 3 times a year

      • Freebe Jackson

you got in to hip hop late in life…your opinion is void….

      • U dont know when i got into music and for some reason you believe that i should take your voidence to heart…no one gaf about your opinion on me when you dont know me, u have no idea of what i know musically

      • Freebe Jackson

you said in your comment when you got into hip hop….you are stupid….good day sir

      • That’s not what I said u idiot…he named a bunch of songs and said that he feels old, I told him I’m 30 years old so its not like I’m a kid, and I said I couldn’t never get into the old hip hop music outside of LL Cool J because only his music stuck to me before Pac etc….meaning I heard other old school bullshit music it just didn’t stick to me and make me wanna play it over and over again like Pac, Snoop, Dre and Bone Thugs’ music did…so again before you make a stupid a** asumption try actively reading first, it’ll keep u from looking as stupid as you do right now.

      • And for the record I was born in July of 83…so at what point was I suppose to be into those whack ass old school records that… came out in 88 or so when I was 5 years old???…bet that never crossed your mind either huh u idiot…You fake ass hip hop heads trip me out with that bs and I’m not from NY so why would I have cared about the hibidiby hop you don’t stop bs that was coming out when I was still a todler moron.

      • Freebe Jackson

you was a square ass kid thats why you bitch ass nigga…you was listening to new kids on the block and some weird shit …..

      • Yeah u sound mad…Lol its ok…go ahead and kill yourself…that’s it…it’ll all be over soon…lmao this lame nigga mad because he was wrong…can’t win em all f*ck boy…sometimes common sense will trump trying to say shit to sound cool, especially against someone like me…take the window its faster lol

  • Jose Guapo

This is what happens when a old school artist’s bread drys up… They start talkin bout the culture this and back in the days that… Nigga aint nobody heard shit from ya ass since you got killed off on “OZ” That bullshit you talkin aint gonna give u a buzz and aint gone make you relevant again.. Your just a bitter washed up MC that’s screaming for attention…. Somebody please give Lord Jamar’s thirsty ass a aquafina.

    • Charismatic eNegro Jef Vinson

      Brand Nubian still tours heavy.

  • Charismatic eNegro Jef Vinson

Lord J is wrong but honestly Yella shouldn’t have responded. The more J talks the worse it makes him look. Don’t look stupid along with him.

BTW -Lord J needs an edgeup in that pic.

  • cromthelaughinggod7

There are a lot of uncle tom niggas on this site not talking about the original regular posters such as Ed, Judah, Bigeast, illseedkilla, etc. The new slave niggas recently posting. • TruthSerum

DJ Vlad has instigated this situation to ridiculous levels. Jamar made one comment and Vlad hyped it up and asked like 15 different artists what they thought. LJ is just yet another black man manipulated by a white man and he’s too stupid to see it. Vlad’s site gets increased traffic and everybody else gets the stress.

The only thing Rick Ross ever did right was beat Vlad down. Whatever happens from here out in this situation, he’s partially to blame for it.

    • TALK_BOSS

      Word? Is this on video?

      • TruthSerum

What, the Rick Ross thing?? Vlad sued him over it a few years ago

      • STRONGEST LEADER SINCE PAC

        “apish”

      • Stanton Brasher

But as pertaining to race and linguistics, that doesn’t hold water. My family heritage stems from Ireland, which makes me Irish. There is no other word in the English language that conveys that I or my ancestors come from Ireland, England, Scotland, etc. I am not disagreeing with you about the origin of the Jewish race (I don’t know enough about it to make a claim), but implying that “ish” is a roundabout way of saying “racial theft” isn’t really accurate.

      • STRONGEST LEADER SINCE PAC

“ish” is a reason to claim racial theft…Because don’t you know Ireland and Scotland were originally inhabited by black people…Hell, Scotland means “Black Land”…Have you ever heard of the Black Irish…They were black people…You need to do the history on the Dark Ages…It was a time period when black people ruled Europe…If you don’t believe me, check out the coat of arms for the last Pope, Pope Benedict…

      • Stanton Brasher

Still, in the Iron Age, which predates the Dark Ages, England, Ireland, and Scotland were colonized by Celts and Anglo-Saxons. Celts, being of Greek descent, had the land known as Eireland (which means “West Country”) and heck, after they came, the Vikings raided (white on white violence?). And “Black Irish” doesn’t specifically refer to black people. It refers to anyone that immigrated and assimilated into Ireland without actually being Irish. For instance, the aforementioned Viking invaders were referred to as “Black Irish,” but this topic is almost never mentioned in Ireland. Many scholars believe it is a historical term invented by Irish-American historians to separate “us” from “them.” That could have included Africans and Middle Easterners, but it was a much more broad term than skin color.

      • STRONGEST LEADER SINCE PAC

The term Anglo Saxon means “Angelic sons of Issac”, which is a term given to the black hebrews that occupied Europe during that time…

      • FRUKOH

They ashkanazi jews, converts so not true jews but the point is as Ice Cube said: ‘You cant be the nigga for life crew, with a white jew telling you what to do’

      • Why u wanna be Jewish when we are Nubian?
        Doesn’t make any sense.
        Just because Jewish is associated
        with wealth and success?

      • STRONGEST LEADER SINCE PAC

Being a jew has nothing to their success…Romans 3:1 tells you that the oracles of God are given to the jews…Wealth is just something that comes with it…The fact that they have stolen our identity is the reason they are running the world…The orders throughout the Earth come from Jerusalem…We aren’t nubians…

For the record, I like both Brand Nubian and Yela’s music… Its two different types of hip hop…

    • TruthSerum

They were never in the same room, Jamar did an interview close to 2 months ago with DJ Vlad, and ever since Vlad has brought up the racist angle to every person he interviews. He asked Yela about it weeks later because he’s white and wanted to instigate a problem to draw views to his knockoff Jerry Springer show website.

      • water_ur_seeds

ahhh ok thanks for clearing that up…

      • Yeah, you know Jamar would have swung.

Brand Nubian, one of greatest rap groups ever.

  • Carl

I’m a big fan of Brand Nubian and don’t care for Yela at all, but Jamar is on the wrong here. He’s an ignorant, intolerant, racist prick. I still enjoy the classic Brand Nu jams but as a person, Jamar leaves a lot to be desired.

  • soyhiphop

punks jump up to get beat down!

  • Dead Mosby

Jamar is one of the biggest hypocrites I’ve ever had the honor of getting into a Twitter debate with. His backers like to criticize people like me, who are simply standing up against the fact he likes to speak for the entire genre of Hip Hop and say that the genre does not accept homosexuality. At one point did someone appoint him as the spokesperson? As a rapper I do agree with only one statement of his, and that is when he says that white rappers are guests in Hip Hop. I fully acknowledge the history of the genre and understand that it is a black culture. However, those who are not willing to let evolution occur will die out. This is exactly why he has the need to attack some of the most popular artists out there like Kanye, Macklemore, Yelawolf, and whoever might be next. Even though Vlad is an instigator, I have enjoyed watching the interviews that keep burying this prejudice lord of the has-beens even further.

Furthermore, during what was supposed to be an intelligent conversation about human rights, Jamar simply ended the conversation with “you don’t know shit so shut up” and then blocked me from his Twitter account.

Every genre deserves to evolve, and the mass majority of people are the ones who have a right to decide what is talent and what is not. This man hasn’t had a hit since the 90’s, barely has followers on social networks, and is preaching the message of hate to the ones that do follow him.

    • I know whiteboys that can flow, making them citizens / residents of Hip Hop.

      • PhdrrruckBoy

You know white boys that can flow but, do they sound good? White rappers typically sound whack with their high-pitched, nasal, sounding voices. As an example, Eminem has lyrics but, the sound of his voice is just annoying.

      • Well, I mean, uh, er, um………….

      • Stanton Brasher

Hip Hop as a culture consisting of 5 elements (emceeing, deejaying, breaking, writing, and knowledge) was first named and defined by Afrika Bambataa in 1974, a year after he founded Zulu Nation. Through the second son of Bambaataa, DJ Jazzy Jay, Lord Jamar is connected to the very origin of hip hop culture. His opinion doesn’t have to be agreed with, but it should be respected. Cats confuse hip hop culture with the rap business. Bambaataa is the Godfather of Hip Hop, Russell Simmons is the Godfather of the rap business. Kids that were raised worshipping millionaire rappers can’t seem to easily comprehend the concept of hip hop as a culture. It’s not about the power of your marketing machine or your social networking interactions, it’s about the art form and its history.

      • Dead Mosby

I agree that he deserves respect as an artist, and for making history in the culture, 100%. And like I said, I do agree with a few of his standpoints. All I’m trying to get across is, as an advocate for equality and peace, hate of any particular group in my opinion is wrong. To tell him that Hip Hop does not welcome homosexuality is just as you said, an opinion. He shouldn’t be speaking as if he was appointed spokesperson.

      • Team Zulu

I see your perspective, but the picture I was trying to paint was Lord Jamar’s family tree in the history of hip hop makes him have a more qualified opinion than the average spectator. I say they should have a discussion panel and DJ Vlad can donate some of that $ he’s collecting from those millions of monetized Youtube views towards an organization that’s involved in constructive conflict resolution instead of adding fuel to the fire in the name of journalism.

      • Dead Mosby

I have to agree with your views, I do understand his status and I do agree that Vlad is an instigator making money off of controversy. Fact remains, he is making himself seem a bit ignorant lately. Especially when he criticizes people for arguing him over a keyboard when that is what he has been doing himself.

  • T Berry

There is an article written by Davey D that proves that whites don’t buy more hip-hop than blacks. With that said, lord jamar didn’t lie. Whites are guest in the music. They didn’t create the culture, they steal from it and benefit the most based off their thievery. Yela Wolf can never win talking crazy to a legend.

    • TruthSerum

There are many white artists who have added on to the culture, you can start all the way back with Rick Rubin and his contributions to helping Def Jam become the first really successful rap label and then keep going….

This is why I hate situations like this, it always devolves into racism and ignorance. Everybody knows that hip hop is black music but to pretend like other races and cultures havent made contributions or been productive members of the community is pure ignorance.

I still blame DJ Vlad for this whole situation, because even Lord Jamar, if you listen to his initial interview, never said anything remotely close to what it’s being portrayed as. He said Blacks were the originators, and that whites were more then welcomed to contribute as long as they showed respect to the architects. Vlad, in turn, went around and asked everybody he could “SO LORD JAMAR SAYS YOUR WHITE ASS DONT BELONG HERE HOW DOES THAT MAKE YOU FEEL” just to stir up racial tension, rally all the ignorant people of both colors to argue in circles with each other and drive up the hits on his pathetic wanna-be WSHH site. Yelawolf just happens to be the only white rapper dumb enough to take the bait, everybody else played it off for the joke it is or took the high road because its well known what kind of scumbag Vlad is.

      • Elayorx El

I hear what your saying, but I’m not sure the issue lies with what other groups have made contributions to Hip-Hop music, because believe me, Hip-Hop would have been just fine, had it stayed isolated. Quite honestly while we’re on the topic of contributions to other cultures, I’m not sure certain groups would even have a culture if not for the contributions of original people, much of which, has been suppressed, or just downright ignored totally. It’s all relative at the end of the day.

      • TruthSerum

Hip Hop is an american artform, created by African Americans but cultured and grown in what is supposed to be a “Melting Pot”. I always looked at it as something that can be used as a bridge to bring people together through music, personally.

If you really went back through history and started giving every culture back the things they created, the only people with toilets would be the British lol kind of an extreme example but you get the point.

And the truth is, in 2013, a vast majority of the people in america don’t separate things like that anymore. Most of us have grown tolerant and accepting of each other, especially in terms of people 30 and under. Of course its not perfect but things have progressed extremely well through the last few decades and I think hip hop has played a major roll in that, so to see a scumbag like Vlad use it as a tool of separation so he can drive up the hits on his site and use the number of viewers to help him jack up the prices he sells space to advertisers on it, pisses me off

      • Elayorx El

Ok, no doubt, I do feel you, but it just seems the “melting pot” only applies to those who do not seem to have any control of their own affairs. I do not see this sort of thing going on with other cultures. Sure they may let you partake here and there, but your not just going to waltz in, and start dictating, trojan horsing new rules, under the guise of, “we’re all in this together”! No way, and that is all Lord J was trying to stress, at the end of the day. I really think people need to start putting some serious thought in there being a stark difference between American culture, and that of the culture of those of Afro-Carribean descent, and that includes Latinos as well, even though history does prove the latter was here along with Native tribes. There are too many blurred lines, and double standards, as I’ve tried to point out, and by the way, the British creating toilets was a good one. I hope you were truly joking…sol Good convo though. Bless up.

      • Opposite Of Everyone

The culture might’ve been fine if it’d stayed isolated and it would’ve been healthier and more spiritual… It wouldn’t have generated any wealth for it’s exponents though.
The statement applies only to the musical elements of the culture though cause Puerto-Ricans were just as much originators of B-Boyin as black people and white people were just as much originators of graf.

      • ccwaterbound32

i completely disagree because blacks spend the most money out of all the other racial groups if that money could be circulated throughout our own community practically every black family would have money to spend twice over… it’s just the mindset of these black people of today is ALL F**KED UP…they don’t get it they really don’t get it…

  • ccwaterbound32

since when did whites have the authority to make decisions for BLACK CULTURE? i swear you uncle toms and house ni**ers just don’t get it! THEY MAKE MONEY OFF OF OUR SHIT! and none of that money goes back to OUR COMMUNITIES! i knew you white boys was going to pull a fast one with ya’ll little responses not ONE OF YOU has made any kind of argument for any contributions white rappers make to the communities they exploit not one of you have! im sick of all this “WE GET TO TELL YOU WHAT TO DO BULLSHIT!” it aint right it aint right at all G! hip hop aint EVOLVING! IT’S DEVOLVING!!! no social commentary in them records! no kind of ORIGINALITY! when is the last time you heard DIFFERENT records but they ALL jam? most records have the same production style! club music that’s all this shit is club music with simple ass nursery rhymes! look at riff raff for christ sakes! he sniffs dope on camera but gets all the accolades and credit and half them rhymes he be kickin he stole that shit from Lil Flip! whereas i can’t stand gunplay but he sniffs dope and his stock drops drastically! man there used to be rules to this shit! now it’s anything goes…

    • T Berry

That’s their contribution the devolving of the culture. A music that use to speak to whats going on in the hood now most of these rappers black and white are rapping about whats going on in the suburbs.

    • Elayorx El

Real talk CC, but that is the case when you have people who have never really been taught properly in general, let alone in the affairs, politics, or history of others. Honestly, I can’t take anyone seriously who stands by this new societal direction of “change”, and “evolution”, because it’s the same attitude, or mental profile that said that however long ago, when foreigners went into native lands telling them how they should, eat, sleep, worship, what to worship, and just totally how to live, compromising the existence of many of these native groups in the process. SAME MENTALITY!!! I personally have no problem with white people who do not know that they are white. It’s the one’s who seem to have this unceasing inferiority complex, and sprinkles of a serious maniacal ego problem that “F” it up for the rest of them. It is this cancer causing agent that seems to INFECT almost everyone who does not take the time to THINK, because if they did, they would know what Lord J says is on point, the only thing debatable being his methods. I swear this would not even be an issue if the system were not set up the way it is, where so-called blacks have to more or less depend on so-called whites for a check, or acceptance, or potential opportunities, because there probably would have already been an open panel discussion about this led by some of our greatest artists, but alas, it is quite clear how far removed real Hip-Hop is from addressing important issues. Real Hip-Hopians need to reunite!

thank you and hopefully to some of you brothers and sisters who see this realize that you were never to partake in society to advance in it to have something to better yourself you are to be pariahs outcasts we must take it upon ourselves to read between the lines of bullshit and call it out if not we’ll all lose this great thing we call hip hop.

      • Maryland’s 1638 “Doctrine Of Exclusion” states that Blacks are never to partake in the benefits of society.

    • Bill E Weaver

Rick Rubin says hi, do a history lesson on that man, and stfu!

      • Bill E Weaver

Also AreoSmith opened hip hop to the “white market”, and pushed Run DMC into super stardom. Majority of hiphop is purchased by whites. If we removed “white” money from hiphop, it would have never made it out of NY.

      • BlackIrishComanche

YOU’RE BUGGIN!!! Hip Hop had already made it out of New York wayyy before it went mainstream. Hip hop spread throughout the so called “urban areas” of the US much before it ever became commercialized.

      • ccwaterbound32

did he create any scholarships? any after school programs for disenfranchised youth? what about an at risk youth program for kids from impoverished neighborhoods? if he did none of those things why would i care if he made beats for Run DMC? (greatest rap duo ever)i mean it’s not like he’s speaking out on certain things that affect the black community. so your little argument is invalid.

  • ccwaterbound32

AND ANYWAY THE CULTURE IS SEGREGATED! look at how the game is set up now… if a white rapper comes out what station gives them an award or nominates them? MT F**KIN V! the execs at viacom does that shit on purpose anyway! they own bet and mtv! if the culture was serious about appreciating it’s stars we would form an INDEPENDENT HIP HOP AWARD SHOW free from interference, free from any restrictions. we need an alternative platform where we can identify our own if whites wanna contribute then they can but it has to be fair and it can’t be biased… and if yall wanna call me out for that then answer me this…for mtv when macklemore and ryan lewis accepted their award why they didn’t let the black dude who PRODUCED on their record say his piece? all he did was just stand up looking stupid….even with battles look at iron solomon vs murda mook they hated on mook for DESTROYING solomon they refuse to give him his due and they shout foul that he WON because of race which is true but that wasn’t the ONLY reason he had Won that battle… so until whites stop being so damn BIASED i say SHUT YOUR F**KING MOUTHS…AND CHANGE YOUR ATTITUDES….

    Again, not the context.

Lord Jamar was responding to something Yelawolf said, which was something disrespectful. I havent seen it, but thats why he just went at him. I think Yela said that Lord Jamar should “STFU”.

Again, no context + internet weirdos = phony perceptions.

Jamar told yall he respects & expects people to disagree. He only said things like this to the people who came back disrespecting him for his view on hip-hop. He was cool with everybody elses response.

  • poloplayboi

Lord Jamar does need to stfu!! lol. First off he sounds like a angry old racist black person that is obviously holding some type of inner conflict. Although hip hop is established from the black community, it should be a honor to see hip hop be universal. Race shouldn’t matter, honestly I get proud to see white people rapping. I’m from Atlanta, where we still encounter racism. But believe me when Bubba Sparxxx came out, the simple fact that he was from GA I supported. This is just another example of somebody being close-minded. You think I’m not bumping Rittz?! you damn right I am cause he’s from Atlanta, but you saw on the cipher the boy can rap. Hip Hop is international, Hip Hop is universal, to limit Hip Hop to just black people is going ass backwards frfr, wtf is wrong with people lol. Besides the Beastie Boys are pioneers of this Hip Hop shit, say something about them. All you old heads know ya’ll were bumping Beastie Boys back in the day, go ahead and say you weren’t. Have you ever been to a real country ass trailer park? That shit is the hood!!

RUN DMC wrote their ‘chet & the ‘chet they did afterward was str8 doo doo grits.

The rest of your post was 100% on point though.

    • Kevin

The reason why you said that is because you are from Atlanta.lol if you are from new York , new jersey, and conneticut with a little bit of Philly you will see how distorted hip hop is now and fucked up.

      • poloplayboi

I agree hip hop is distorted, all I’m saying is, diversity in anything is advancement. and some of the comments that Lord Jamar said are absurd. I mean I wish that Hip Hop would go back to the 90’s- 2000’s where it was real diverse. Only thing that I don’t agree with are these gay rappers, that’s sinful though, I can’t get jiggy with that lol. And that’s exactly my point to, the South got ignored for the longest, and we still get dissed lol. No matter where your from you have rappers that nobody agrees with or that “can’t rap”. We got lyricist down here too, but to some people nobody down here can rap, lol, diversity. it is what it is though

    • PhdrrruckBoy

“angry old racist black person”….Good, we need more like him. He’s not being closed-minded. He’s being protective – protecting Hip-Hop from culture robbers.

Ok, let’s see who owns the some hot record labels today.

      Jay-Z, Rockafella Records, BLACK
Rick Ross, Maybach Music Group, BLACK
      Cash Money Records, Birdman, BLACK
Young Money Records, Lil Wayne, BLACK
Brick Squad 1017, Gucci Mane, BLACK

I don’t get what you’re saying because it’s hard to read your hot mess of a text, but black people who keep saying that music is put out by jewish white “zionists” are the same idiots who actually think illuminati is a real thing.

      • EVOLONE

You are absolutely correct you don’t get what I am saying and you just commented on something you obviously don’t understand the labels have to have a contract with a record company in order to distribute their music a label and a company or two different things let me help you out

Rockafella /Roc Nation is distributed by Universal
Maybach Music Group is distributed by Atlantic Records
Cash Money Records and Young Money is distributed by Universal
Brick Squad is distributed by Warner brothers

These kinds of arguments on hip hop site are equal to a dog chasing its tail. I swear I could have read each and every one of these comments in a Benzino vs Eminem All Hip Hop thread circa 2003.

Moral of the story, it never goes anywhere, just people throwing the same insults at each other over and over. Which is exactly what a guy like DJ Vlad wants, get 2 idiots to argue over race, then get all the sheep in the audience to fall back on their age old “My Tribe vs Your Tribe” arguments, and drive up the traffic on his site, helping him sell adertising space on it for more money.

I swear to god DJ Vlad probably got an erection when Jamar made that comment, telling himself “YESSSSS!!!! NOW I JUST NEED TO FIND A WHITE GUY DUMB ENOUGH TO ARGUE WITH HIM SO I CAN MAKE $$$$$!!!!!!”

Ironically, the only idiot he could find who cared enough to take the bait was Yelawolf, a no hit wonder who flopped 2 years ago and is on his way out of interscope. Macklemore probably answered Vlad’s call, told him he had the wrong number and hung up on him.

Keep in mind Vlad is the same guy who instigated the Joe Budden Ransom beef into violence and helped Ransom catch a charge and jail time. All that dude wants is to cause trouble and it’s sad that Jamar hasnt realized he, himself, is being used by a white man with an agenda. …. The irony is amazing

I see racist in this thread than I do out in the world everyday, and I leave in Arkansas. One day black people will see that the way we think is part of the problem. Hip hop is hip hip . it has grown and mature , and branched out. I don’t like a lot of rap out there right know but I understand that hip hop grows with the times. Maybe some of u people need to grow with it. And yes I said u people. I’m black and I’m tired of every black and white discussion splitting down the middle because of race and not because the the black said something stupid or vice versa. Cant it just be that their a dumb asss

    • EVOLONE

Has Hip Hop truly grown? if so explain to me exactly what you are saying. Hip Hop has not grown, now if you are speaking of the white aspect then okay I understand (what you are saying), however music has the power to innovate, create, and even educate, it may have “spreaded” to other cultures which is cool, but it hasn’t grown you had the most diverse hip hop between 86-96 nothing is new outside of that error. The energy has changed and creativity well, really doesn’t exist ……….and for you to say that you see more racist in this thread then you see in the world is a little naïve to me because without the prejudice in racism in the world the comments would not exist so what you are reading are the comments of people who can sit behind a computer and speak their feelings, truths and insults without any repercussions. I think your reality is a little flawed and guess what the foundation of the United States ” was “built” on racism, so how can that be ignored or changed?

      • daryl welch

I do beleive hip hop has grown. Matured is some ways and regressed in others. But that is any culture. I hate this “molly rap” phase but I chalk that up to me being older. My mom was the same way when I was a kid. She liked some of the hip hop out but could not listen to all of it. So I try not to judge “even though it sounds illiterate”, but that’s another conversation.

Yes I know the world was built on racism. That does not mean it has to stay that way. As long as we segrigate ourselves between them and us, the bigger the divide will be between the rich old white men running everything and us trying to prosper out here. Im not naive on how life is. I just choose to see it it in a different light. I’m not one of those people hiding behind a keyboard taking shots at people and making racial comments because no one can see them. I will speak my mind no matter what the reprocussions. Saying that, I also don’t have any I’ll will to any race, so I’m not worried about it. I been shown many of times who runs the world and where people think you should be in life. I just don’t give a shit, black or white, what they think. I if people could open their mind up, things could be less controversial. Just the way I think it may not be right, it may not be realistic yet, just me

      • EVOLONE

I understand now and I can respect that.

  • Jamar could of handled this better than using racist slurs. Yela smart by using this as a tool to promote. white people should take off their shoes before entering hip hop but at the same time most our sales come from white people so it’s a two way street. I think they just to meet up and get it over with.

  • Obi Won

Vlad set him up good smh

  • I love Brand Nubians music, every track they put out was a banger.
But I also understood they were 5 percenters and associated with NOI.
So whatever Lord Jamar says here doesn’t come as a surprise.

What I had to realize, the best rappers might not be the smartest
people on earth. Might not make the smartest choices in life.
    The list is long.

I don’t disagree with his statement even most white people don’t.
But please do it without sounding bitter. It’s the same bitter tone as
he was dissing gay people last time in his other video.
And not to forget. This is the same Lord Jamar who gave concerts in
Europe and said I’m not gonna speak to white people here.

The same Lord Jamar who never gave a concert in Africa.
be cool and your life is gonna be cool. But don’t be bitter and expect

hip hop may be a house that blacks built but whites latinos(cypress hill big pun joel ortiz) italians have been renting this bitch the plumbing was broke we fixed the italians(vinnie paz) put in a marble floor eminem raised the ceiling so sorry this is no longer a “blackmans house” not one when a white boy is arguably the best in it (eminem) srry but us other races done made this house what it is today

      • Mel

Eminen is sh*t. Always was. White labels made it was it is today, which is a f**king hot mess.

      • hiphop is the soul of a black american, everyone else wants to simulate it,mimic it,be friends with it,put their own style and twist on it and celebrate it,and thats what hiphop wants, thats how it will always live on….

      • Those people you mentioned are great contributors
to Hip-Hop but were by far not relevant in the process
of making it what it is.
Building the house of Hip-Hop didn’t happen in the 90s.
It was already there in the 70s. And it started with black
Jamaicans and African Americans in the Bronx. None of
the founders of Hip-Hop is white. Early contributions
also come from Puerto Ricans. But in it’s early days
Hip-Hop was a local thing until people like Fab 5 Freddy
promoted it in Manhattan and then to the rest of the world.

There is no hate against white people. We love y’all too.
But we don’t forget how you stole Rock-N-Roll.
before there was Elvis RnR was 100% Black. After Elvis
you can name any black rockers on one hand who were
        being promoted by the media.

      • Stanton Brasher

Actually, some will argue that Steven Tyler performed one of the first recorded raps with “Walk this way” while others claim it was Blondie with “Rapture.” Moreover, some will say the Scotts invented it hundred of years ago with “flyting,” which is where they would stand in circles and insult their opponents through rhyme (original freestyling/cyphering). It is theorized that the rhyming on beat tradition started when slaves heard their scottish masters flyting and decided to do some of their own (albiet, probably much better).

Black rockers: Jimmy Hendrix, Paul D. Hudson- bad brains, Lenny Kravitz, Darius Rucker, Lajon Witherspoon- sevendust, Howard Jones, Jada Pinkett Smith, Fishbone, Slash from Guns and Roses, Vernon Reid- living colour, TV on the Radio (the whole band), Justin Warfield (She wants revenge), Ben Harper, Tricky, Maxim and Leeroy Thornhill from Prodigy, Rocky George from Suicidal Tendencies, Phil Lynott from Thin Lizzy, Meshell Ndegeocello, Prince, Screamin Jay Hawkins, Little Richard to name a few. In fact, that is more than 4 hands, haha. White people did not steal rock n’ roll. They liked it and became involved with it, but no one took it away from black folks. Black folk can still pick up a guitar and jam if they want which doesn’t suit the definition of “theft.” If that were to be the case, we did not steal rock n’ roll, we traded it for basketball.

      • Do you really want me to comment on this?

      • Stanton Brasher

No, actually, I joined in on this internet conversation to avoid discourse. haha. :-)

      • Stanton Brasher

And I am not saying that any of that is true, I am just saying there is good reason to support at least parts of those arguments and when you do, you kind of realize that rhyming on beat was never about color. It’s absurd to pinpoint exact moments of anything and not always be able to go back and say, “well this was influenced by that. And that was influenced by this. etc.” People have been doing it since the dawn of time from every color and walk of life. And it’s cool. People should just be able to enjoy what they want without prelabeled connotations on everything. That’s my point.

I’m sorry I really don’t mean to offend but that sounds like an attitude of white arrogance.

Hip Hop in its infancy (before money) was about being authentic. It was a culture originated by black people, for black people and policed by black people. If you were an up and coming rapper then black people had to cosign you or you were done. White America though hip hop was a fad. A newcomer had to put in the work and gain the respect of the genre before he could say he was officially hip hop.
Hip hop is the only genre of music where outsiders come in and make claims that they now do it better than the originators. You never hear black people saying that they run country music or rock & roll just cause we have a few successful black artists. We’ve always had respect for the various genres of music and the people that were legends in it.
It really should be no surprise as black people have gotten nearly everything stolen from our culture. It’s the attitude of white arrogance to say that other cultures are doing it better than the originators. You named 5 people and although they are highly respected in Hip Hop circles don’t prove your argument of running hip hop.

  • RIV

Lord Jamar is a G. come check out my new music video on youtube …search “RIV – The Good Die Young 2K13” and watch in 720/1080p

  • AlbertoRipRon

Straight up, Lord Jamar would mop Yela in a one on one. Then run him over with the four wheeler he rode in on.

    • golder1

And you know this how? Jamar is not hard because he talks hard. He isnt hard because he is black. He is not his character on tv. Music does not have a color and that includes Hip hop

      • AlbertoRipRon

It isn’t about color. It’s about the pedigree. Folks who listen to commercial music always think its about color. Little do they know, in the hip hop world there has been many white dudes who grabbed mics and spit bars for years. Before you even had your Eminems and weirdos like Yelawolf/Mack Milllers. But they had the pedigree. It was natural. They were hip hop because they lived and breathed hip hop. Not these dudes who just learned about hip hop their senior year in high school. Not dudes who were just listening to Green Day one day and then see Eminem and want to be a rapper the next. Again, its about the pedigree.

      • Nukirb

co-sign but I have to admit that goes the same for a lot of black artists as well. Many of the ones promoted on the radio don’t have the pedigree and become industry stars. What makes it worse the already established artists with pedigree sell out and reinforce the trend.

some people really don’t think basic sociology has anything to do with the control of power? you think a white boy sitting in his nice home in suburban america wouldn’rt quickly choose to buy an eminem cd over a jayz cd simply because eminem resembles that white boy? of course he would…your ignorant and in denial if you think otherwise. We ALL do it, cling to what we know, its not always racism sometimes it just us being humans…hell its us being mammals…dogs and cats attract to other dogs and cats! My point in all of this is its easier for a record label to sell an eminem hiphop cd than a Nas hiphop cd…everyone nas looks like for the most part can’t afford cds etc…yes white fans do buy black albums but the numbers don’t lie white rappers simply sell more because they are WHITE! Your a fool if you think otherwise! Eminem has said all of these things himself! We have to fix problems from the ROOT! My people have to do BETTER!

  • People Believe ANYTHING

It is interesting to me that people tend to be so effing idiotic. Have any of you EVER thought about the fact that the bible is full of nonsense used to control the masses? For example…most of Hollywood is run by gay men. Back in Roman times, those dudes were KNOWN To be with each other. The priests..Like boys, so have you ever thought about the fact that whatever the bible may say about that or ANY subject could probably, more than likely be NONSENSE. How can we trust the words of those who have done us such harm? They SAY it’s the word of God and people believe it? Based upon a story? That is so ridiculous.
