Drake To Release Hit Boy-Produced "Trophies" + 3-4 New Songs Before 2014

DRAKE SET TO RELEASE FOUR NEW SONGS BEFORE YEAR END

(AllHipHop News) Drake is not done with 2013. During an interview with VIBE Magazine Drake explained how he plans to release four, possibly five songs before the end of 2013, including the highly anticipated “Trophies” produced by Hit Boy.

Instead of releasing it commercially, Drake may ultimately decide to opt to release the songs similar to his release of previous songs, on his OVO blog:

Not an EP, but maybe a blog thing like how I did ‘Versace,’ ‘The Motion,’ all those in one night. I’ll probably do ‘Trophies’ and three or four other records.

Drake explained to Revolt TV a month after Nothing Was The Same was released about
why “Trophies” was left off the album:

I’m not a ‘just throw it together’ kinda guy. And I had two different hooks on there, I didn’t like either of them. I started sending it around and as great of a job as other people did, it didn’t sound right if I wasn’t on the hook. I always wanna do my own hooks for the sake of my performances. I don’t like being off a hook, ’cause then I can’t really give you a moment if someone else is doing the hook.

Drake also spoke about an Aaliyah-featured record and a song with YG during the Revolt TV interview, possibly hinting at these songs being among the four released. Drake also said the release of the remix to “Wu Tang Forever” is up to his producer 40:

[‘Wu-Tang Forever (Remix)’] will probably come out with all that stuff—I hope. It’s on 40. He has all the verses.
