Eminem's Childhood Home Demolished By State of Michigan (VIDEO)

DEMOLITION OF EMINEM’S CHILDHOOD HOME RECORDED ON TAPE (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) 19946 Dresden in East Detroit will forever be immortalized on the covers of Eminem’s The Marshall Mathers LP and The Marshall Mathers LP 2, but it now no longer exists. Less than three weeks after a Nov. 7th fire damaged the residence, Eminem’s childhood home was demolished in accordance to an order by the State of Detroit.

The state agency that owns Eminem’s childhood home, Michigan Land Bank sent a press release, obtained by MLive that explains why the property was ultimately demolished:

The condition of the property post-fire presents a safety hazard that the Land Bank is responsible for removing. The goal is to demolish and clean up the site, so neighborhood safety and order can be restored.

Eminem admitted in his recent interview with BBC One Radio’s Zane Lowe that he still visited the old residence, even not so long before the photoshoot for The Marshall Mathers LP 2 cover.
