Kanye West - Fear of God

Hip-Hop Rumors: Kanye West Orders Boycott…But Why?

Kanye West is getting weirder. I mean, I don’t understand, even though I am sure there is a method to the madness. TMZ is reporting that Kanye West issued a report to NYC to stop buying Louis Vuitton until after Christmas, because…the head of Louis V wouldn’t meet with him in Paris. Apparently, the French CEO Yves Carcelle didn’t give a damn who Kanye West was and let him know about it. But, most people are saying this is the result of Kanye’s overall frustration with the Fashion Houses and designers that have blackballed him. He he wants in, but they won’t let him.

Now, I don’t know anybody buying Louis V like that, but if they did, I don’t think they would stop on the command of Kanye.

    Fck kanye and Louis vuitton

  • Sean Power

haha kanye your average fan can’t afford Louis . stop with fake care to benefit yourself

    • digitallife

If you can’t afford LV you aren’t his targeted audience, if we are being truthful about it all.

      • Obi Won

Makes sense, probably why I stopped listening after Late Registration.
I like my Foamposites better anyway

      • johnblacksad

I’m wear black foams as I type this… thinkin about coppin them Safari

      • Obi Won

yeah those Safari’s are from another planet. I’m not getting them but they are sick.

  • He needs to start his own.

    • Escobar

I think he’s just afraid of failure, I know he’s got that whole IDFAG ego and shit, but to be honest, you really think he’s gonna make kicks for hip-hop at 5K each and think shelves coppin’? I don’t know, guy. Seems too risky.

Yeezys’ running 2-5k easily, with endorsements and credentials. He should start small I guess and go from there.

      • What’s good in small amounts, is good in large amounts.

He is afraid of failing, cuz them ‘chets will fail.

Kanye dresses like a gay homeless dude, ain’t nobody paying top dollar for that, not even gay homeless dudes.

Now if he came out with something that was a better value, like a heavy Champion hoodie with a deep hood, for $20, he’s eating, but like Cube said:

“That’s what you do with the money that your raising, exploiting us like the caucassion did, for 400 yrs…”

These dudes get that $$ & distance themselves from US, rightly or wrongly.

Look at Michael Jackson & Neverland, etc.

      • Escobar

I guess it’s all dependent on whether he’s willing to go to small amounts. You and I BOTH know his ego yells High Fashion out his ass.

He will be posting his High Fashion lineup at huge stores and will flunk.

I sincerely hope that if Kanye finds himself to be the “Biggest Slave” he claims to be, maybe he’ll break out of his own “Shackles” and become the creator he wants to be

I guess all we gotta do is wait and see theaux.

      • Immortal

Those ol Marbury’s were selling faster than the local ho sells ass, because they were a good looking shoe and hear priced cheaply and intended from the start for the masses, not the elite. Ye’s pride won’t let him think like that and see the money that is actually in the streets rather than in the high end dept stores. And no one is going to buy those shoes at 5k anyways. I could save 4900 of it and get a pair of J’s and call it a day.

      • Starbury’s > Yeezy’s

        Why?

Look at what we got in return.

We get up at 9am on Saturday morning to shop in Chinatown….but you don’t see them getting up at 9am to spend with us.

  • digitallife

LMAO..the Louie Vuitton Don got the peasant treatment…matter of fact we should buy even if it’s a f’ing handkerchief just out of spite. Now he wants us to boycott after he literally tried shoving that shhh down our throats for 8 years..fk outta here. Them folks reminded you right quick about your lane and now he wants ppl to boycott lol…yeah after you promote their brand for free and sold how many millions of clothing for them via dumb mofo’s who just wanted to buy the feeling of being cool and balling.

  • Mec-One

Dude was under the illusion of inclusion …… until he got that check he couldn’t cash … reality check! Time to stop sweating them ‘Ye, and start supporting your own

  • Obi Won

So after years of LV support and bread spent, he realized they just wanted his entertainment money & not him.

  • JUSROMAN

To the tune of Biz Is Goin’ Off; “Kanye’s actin like a bitch!!!” But what else is new…

  • Papi Peligro

I’m boycotting him for that 1993 Write your boyfriends name on the back 6th grade Jean Jacket he wearing.

  • jondubock

i think people would give more of a doodoo if he had just said “Louis Vutton doesnt care about black people”…instead….

  • Big Dog

Only thing I’m boycotting is that wack ass Yeezus album

    • johnblacksad

      LMAO

  • just_some_bastard #ALCOHOLIC

He thinks he’s more important than he is.

  • BulldogCG

He trying to get black folk into an area we are not in, high fashion, this is a foreign white area. A lot of them look down on African Americans and do not think anything we do can be considered “high fashion.” I applaud him for taking them on. I am not sure if he holds that much weight, but he believes he does, we shall see. But its like anyone who has a passion and talent for something but is being unfairly blocked by the powers that be. There are many fronts African Americans have not been involved in, the struggle is not over. We may be free, but others are free to hold us down and keep us out of certain arenas, we need brothers and sisters who will not take no for an answer. I don’t care about high fashion, but I am down for anyone that challenges the status quo in any area.

    • DJ7

      Say word!!

      • Immortal

Say it twice. Ye’s arrogance and sense of entitlement has come back to bite him in the ass. If you want into an area that is controlled by the “ol guard” you might have to put your attitude on the back burner, get your feet in the door then give em da fanga once you’re established. I would also wager to say the fact of who he is married to turns a lot of those ol geezers off when they think of beauty as skinny as a pole, and Ye and the rest of us see beauty with curves and ass. Also mother in law would ruin anything he did anyways in order to pimp herself and her “brand” so I guess this setback is for the best. BTW that home alone kid wants his jacket back Ye.

    • thebayarean

Agreed! I think the problem is in his approach, as always. Especially since his BFFs (Beyonce and Jay Z) refuse to turn down a few $$$, even in the light of obvious racial discrimination (Barney’s). More than anything, Kanye always seems like he is having a tantrum. I do agree with his justification for this one though.

    • I don’t see the logic.
      We had Hip-Hop brands
      who were outselling high fashion.
      And we totally abandoned those,
in favor for Louis V and that Gucci
stuff. We don’t need Kanye to
break into high fashion. We should
make our own. F**k about those
      french brands. Before rappers wore
them nobody cared apart from 40+
golfers. In we were smart a brand
like Karl Kani, Reynolds and Perry,
FUBU, Wu Wear or even Wilie Esco
would be amongst the top brands.
Why does this not so intelligent
rapper desperately cut a check with
      Louis V shareholders?

      • BulldogCG

“We” do not need any one person for anything, doesn’t mean african american individuals should not break new ground. And what does “Before” matter? if you haven’t noticed the game changed, technology changed everything, including the consumer. Woulda, coulda, shoulda, your basically basing your argument off of something that did not happen. Which means the way you speak of failed, probably a million reasons why, but at the end of the day people call those excuses.

      • Do you see any supermarkets , electronic brands, household appliances, construction materials, chemical companies, telecom, pharmaceutical, logistics… which was built by a person of color and has been operating worldwide? Apart from a handful of cosmetics companies which just cater to black people there are none. Not in the US not in Africa. nothing, nada.

      • BulldogCG

I am not arguing that people of color should not be there either. Any and everywhere.

  • RealSpit

  • Mugshot_McGruff

Louis V & Gucci played out in the mid 80’s in the hoods of L.A. and Compton when I was coming up. It made a sudden comeback along with Levis and Polo “le Tigre” style shirts that we wore back in 84 – 87.
