50 Cent and Game

Hip-Hop Rumors: Could There Be A G-Unit Reunion In The Works?

You have to admit … G-Unit was one of the strongest rap crews in history…that didn’t quite live up to its full potential. Think about it? All those people from 50 Cent and the Core 4 (Young Buck, Tony Yayo, The Game and Lloyd Banks) to the alternates like Mobb Deep and M.O.P. But it never quite happened. ANYWAY, a curious thing happened last week. The Game and Young Buck are now in the studio doing some stuff. But, they have been cool for a minute. But, Tony Yayo publicly shouted Buck out on Twitter and it was quite friendly. Good to see. Now, clearly this doesn’t mean there will be any reunion, but I think it would be cool to see some of the parts get back together in the name of solidarity! Yayo is definitely Team 50 and from what I’ve been told, working on new music. We’ll have to see…but I think if 50 called it, it would happen.

yayo been with 50 since they were kids. he knows what 50 is like. he wouldn’t have tweeted if 50 still had hatred towards buck or some shit.

“G-Unit was one of the strongest rap crews in history” – how does one album make you one of the strongest crews?

Even when you count the mixtapes they still ain’t one of the strongest. Ruff Ryders, Wu, Native Tongues, Army of The Pharaohs, Dipset, Boot Camp Clik, Demigodz…the list goes on..

    • andone

so ur jus gonna leave out the second half of that quote “G-Unit was one of the strongest rap crews in history, THAT QUITE DIDNT LIVE UP TO ITS FULL POTENTIAL”…

Don’t front on the unit like that, they have a solid catalog and made their stamp in the rap game… not suggesting they are superior or better to the honorable mentions u dropped but its safe to say they are a movement in their own right as well… thats jus being real, “think about it’?

      • RichFromBX

        .

      • RichFromBX

they were more famous for what went on outside of the booth than what they did inside of the booth. They were definitely one of the most infamous crews in history but definitely not one of the strongest – if they were so strong there wouldn’t have been all of the out of the booth drama, they would’ve been able to ride and continue to make music…

      • andone

thats not entirely true… they did have as much drama and conflicts as they did radio spins but that doesn’t take away from their musical achievements… all their major label debuts are platinum if im not mistaken and each got tv & airplay… last but not least the original g-unit is still a group till this day as far as thats concerned… most clicks have their own share of internal issues/differences, look @ outkast, rocafella, dip-set, ruff ryders, wu-tang, 36 mafia, cash money, death row, n.w.a, mobb deep, ect…

    • Jayson C Williams

Everybody besides dipset & wu cant stand alone with gunit as far as platinum artists, popularity, clothing lines and the movement. Made mixtapes worth buying. Now I don’t wanna hear a mixtape. Nig’s use to be thirsty for a gunit mixtape just to hear a ja diss.. The rest you mentioned were great lyrically and for a dif generation. I wish native tongues had cultural/coporate support like gunit but than again I don’t. Nigs n suits shouldn’t b apart of hiphop period

      • RichFromBX

maybe I’m just to caught up in the fact that they didn’t live up to their potential which is the perspective I’m coming from – no doubt they had some really good accomplishments along the way but it’s the part about not becoming what they could’ve that has them ranked on the bottom especially since it was over garbage…

The mixtapes my friend… The mixtapes.

  • That_N

A reunion would be the best thing for all of them. It might get people interested in them again.

Core 4? For me it’s Core 3 (50, Tony Yayo and Lloyd Banks) <<<<====THE ORIGINAL

  • I’m wit it. Liked them as a group. With Game back in, it would be a PROBLEM for a lot of dudes out here tryin’ to come up. Get some Sha Money beats and that’s DIFFICULT. Now would be the RIGHT time before dudes get older…

Core 4 need to come back out. I don’t want to hear 50 anymore. Love what he did, but I really wanna hear g-unit minus 50

    • Charismatic eNegro Jef Vinson

A G-Unit album with Gam, Buck and Banks would be hot but Banks and Game hated each other from day one

    • Live Well

G Unit minus 50 is an oxymoron.

  • Executive

This would be dope but niggas is too wishy washy either get it together or don’t do it.

  • water_ur_seeds

See Young Bucks got on his 2002 special edition Source Magazine jewellery lol Would be dope if they did do a reunion though. funnily enough I was thinking what the fck happened to Tony Yayo 2day… Cant see 50 doing it though, especially with Game on Cash Money now…

  • digitallife

When the money dries up and the ego’s deflate cooler heads prevail.

  • Crenshaw on my shirt

    Niggas is washed up tho…

    • TRE

Banks still spits fire. Peep his newer mixtapes

  • just get rid of the game… he wasnt a core memeber in any type of way at all… lol…

    • RealSpit

The only real “core members” are banks and Yayo. And that last album with the core members (Banks and Yayo) was Garbage with a capital G. The only way i would spend bread on another G unit album is if Buck and Game are on it, because the core members aren’t bringing it!!!

      • Crenshaw on my shirt

Couldn’t blame Banks on that one. Dude was a BEAST in 2003/2004

      • nah, banks brings it, yayo ios just old and boring now… best thing yayo ever do was those NBA team/city freestyle… cant stand the game, he just too corny.. that new banks mixtape was dope tho…just get buck back and a fresh souding 50 and theyd be good…

      • hoeyuno

Banks gotta be the most boring rapper in the game.

      • not if u listen to his bars… he got a different voice no doubt, he gotta be more selective on what beat he raps on…. but banks is the perfect back up for 50… 50 got da hooks and real soild verses and banks would come in and smash the bars… and buck was the perfect 3rd…

  • Sean Power

if there is one i’m sure 50 won’t be taking part and he will get is lawyer to make sure they can’t use the g unit name……50 like to feed his niggas

    • Ze

      lmao

      • killa

ha look at game Buck like thats it ….. GAME LOOKING LIKE ??? HUH THATS IT YOU AINT DID SHIT??? NO WORK ETHIC THATS Y GAME MADE IT WITHOUT 50 AND BUCK DIDNT PERIOD!!1

  • johnblacksad

They gon do it just like they did the first time… beef and all included

  • David Gonz

G UNIT WAS WHACK. 50 IS BARELY TOLERABLE ONLY CUZ HE BAGS ON NY RAPPERS SO MUCH . GAME WAS THE DOPEST ONE. AND HES NOT THAT GREAT. PROPS TO TONY YAYO FOR FUCKIN THAT DRADLOCK GUY UP THO

    • $18592567

      Wack compared to who???

      • David Gonz

WU TANG,GOODIE, DOG POUND AND OTHER CLASSIC COLLECTIVES THROUGHOUT RAP MUSIC. GUNIT IS WHACK BRO

    • killa

BOY U STUPID G-UNIT WAS THE SHIT BACK IN THE DAY THEY HAD ALL THE HOTTEST RECORDS AND GOT IN A BIG A BRAWL EVERY AWARD SHOW I REMEMBER I WAS WATCHIN THE SHIT THEM NIGGAZ WAS DOPE GAME JUST FUCKED EVRYTHING UP HE WAS SUPPOSED TO CARRY THE UNIT CUZ AFTER THAT 50 WENT COMMERCIAL …. LIKE STR8 POP

  • TRE

50 would never call it. Maybe Banks and Yayo but thats it

  • don king

buck n game were the best in g.unit anyway, in my opinion.

  • hoeyuno

50 gonna have to lose his fortune before that’ll happen. But if fif can be cool with fat Joe why can’t buck, game, yayo be cool?? I think if the three of them do music even without fif it’ll be the most attention and possibly sales that they could get. I know game has a following but buck and yayo could use that ish..

    • ItGoesDownINtheDM

if you ask me this maybe the start of them doing stuff minus fif ….. def waiting to see how he feels about this situation …..

  • killa

50, The game, and Banks were all dope artist The game still is a great artist but he fucked up if he had stayed with G-unit He would have more money now He would have his own Label (he does now but has no dope artist on it), and guys like YG, and kendrick Lamar might be his artist Eminem and Dre built an empire too go in order igght Eminem is 0n #1 all about his projects now he got his protege 50 its all about 50 … The game was Dre’s protege BUT Dre kinda neva got too finish up on GAme like Suge was saying 50 had heavy influence on Game album that was his biggest artist … So Game ride that out as 50 protege 4 years later after shoe deals, and other big $ deals you got your protege’s Kendrick and YG… HE SHOULDA HAD THAT LOYALTY cuz now thats all this rap shit about

  • Yung Piccolo

y’all have been reporting this same rumor since they broke up lol
