Happy MLK Day, my warriors of light and creatures of purposeful grind! Welcome to the day that is set aside to commemorate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the day that is dedicated to service! Today’s Daily Word is dedicated to building your legacy! A legacy is something that is received from someone who has died! The dictionary says it can be property or money but we all know that in most cases those leave very little value! When we speak of legacy, we speak of what has been done in a lifetime that lives on past that person’s death! When you think of Martin Luther King and his dream of equality and the mark he left in the world, or when you think of Mother Teresa, Mahatma Gandhi, Malcolm X, and as of recent, Nelson Mandela… These are all souls who were selfless and lived a life of service and vowed to leave the world better than how they find it! When you think about your life…. What legacy will you leave? When it is all said and done, how will you be remembered? Are you going to continue to only think about yourself and live a life that will be over after the obituary? Or are you going to maximize your God-given talents to leave a mark in the world that will never be forgotten? I don’t care where you come from, how you started or what circumstance was forced upon you… What will matter in the end is how your lived and what good you leave! As Buddtha once said “Your work is to discover your world and then with all your heart give yourself to it.” Build Your Legacy and Live your life to the fullest!!
