Odd Future Banned From New Zeland Due To Being Public “Threats”

(AllHipHop News) Odd Future may terrorize some parents with their lyrics but immigration officials in New Zealand appear to perceive the group as actual threats to the New Zealand public. According to immigration officials in New Zealand are risks to the public of New Zealand and revoked their visas as the group was en route to the airport.

The group was scheduled to perform at Eminem’s Rapture tour this Saturday (February 15th).  Referencing The Immigration Act of 2009, the immigration officials’ statement stated the group were “likely to be, a threat or risk to public order or the public interest.” Their evidence for this suspicion was when a Boston police officer was injured while escorting Tyler, the Creator out of Newbury Comics after “the crowd of more than 100 had become overwhelming” according to reports. The incident was not specifically named but was referenced in the officials’ statement:

Odd Future has been deemed to be a potential threat to public order and the public interest for several reasons, including incidents at past performances in which they have incited violence. In one instance, a police officer was hospitalised following a riot incited by Odd Future,

Tyler, the Creator and Odd Future’s manager Christian Clancy took to their personal Twitter account to announce the group’s displeasure of the turn of events:

Back in 2012, Odd Future’s scheduled performance at Australian music festival Big Day Out was axed after public concerns over Odd Future’s perceived homophobic lyrics.

Let me get this right….. Odd Future is banned because of potential threats? FOR AN EMINEM TOUR?! WTF?!

Eminem has bodied waaaaay more people on wax than Odd Future has done. Furthermore, I remember fights and sh*t at Eminem’s concerts too. Is New Zealand looking at that?

This is some straight racist sh*t! Anybody that says otherwise is blind as f*ck!

    • ZUBU

I was thinking the same thing you gonna ban somebody on a EM tour wtf. All the killing he talked about, driving Kim around in his car with her dead, tons of anti gay shittt SMH…

    • Chrisblackusa

who else is on the ticket,,,,is it an all white music group venue?

      • Black Jay

That’s really irrelevant. Eminem is white and threatened to kill and rape his mom. If you are going to be consistent about terrorism, talk about that sh*t. F*ck it! cancel the whole concert. Plus Eminem had riots and protests at his concerts. Now because it’s Odd Future, it’s on some terrorism sh*t? Come on! Ain’t nobody in hip hop right now a bigger terrorist than Eminem. And that’s on some real sh*t.

  • GQ

Ban these lames from Hip Hop

    • KLewis

I was never a OF fan, but have you listened to Tyler, the Creator’s Wolf? Dude can produce and has some dope lyrics.

  • MrNoName2K

New Zealand aint missing anything by banning these niggas…

    • Chrisblackusa

its stifiling future business for the culture,,,you might be living as a local dude,,but im raising my suns to work the planet,,,,hiphop takes souls sun,,,,and you get the soul you get the business,,,,better recognize or just sit back and let a person outside the culture make moves in hiphop around the world,,,

      • MrNoName2K

um..you need to go to the closest corner store and have a coke and a smile..sounds like you have alot on your mind

      • Chrisblackusa

you right about that,,,alot on the mind,,,there are not enough professionals in our culture to handle this worldwide business that is running that is theirs,,,some just wanna be customers in life,,,

  • Myleage

who in New Zealand knows them? shit people in the US dont know them

    • KLewis

So I guess the Odd Future Carnival that was sold out, people just accidentally bought tickets and showed up en masse. They got a sizable following here, that almost guarantees that their overseas following is greater.

      • Myleage

was this concert in Montana? no? so like i said millions of people in the US dont know him. Im pretty sure it wouldnt have been sold out in South Dakota, let alone New Zealand and Timbuktu

      • AK

since when does anybody care about montana or south dekota? LOL and white people love OF im sure tyler is one of the only rappers they know over there

      • KLewis

Dude, have you ever been to another country? They love American culture and know a shit-ton of rappers.

      • GQ

        U must be white

      • KLewis

Why would you assume that? Niggas don’t travel?

      • GQ

Cuz niggas don’t listen to OF

      • KLewis

So you speak for the entire race of black people? GTFOH, niggas like whatever they want.

      • GQ

I speak for real niggas. If you like them then your a whitewashed homo who doesn’t deserve to live.

      • KLewis

What is a real nigga? I am no way “whitewashed” or “homo”. I just like music, and Tyler and Frank made a few songs I like. But the irony of you calling me “whitewashed homo” and having a picture of Cruel Summer as your avatar is unfathomable. You do realize that that’s some of the same things people have said about Kanye, right? Either you’re a troll or live in blissful ignorance.

      • GQ

My friend worked on that album so Its just a sign of support or my nigga.

U like Frank music? U kno he signing to and about men right?
Tyler is gay and a weirdo. But whatever man I’m off this. Again, no REAL Niggas fukk wit that shyt. Do you tho

      • KLewis

You should’ve told your friend not to work on that album because, “real niggas don’t rock skirts on stage.” He don’t sing about men in every song and so what? Who he has sex with don’t make me cum. And Tyler does weird shit, hence “Odd” proceeding the Future. That don’t make the man gay. Rick James wore the tightest leather pants in history, that doesn’t mean the man was gay.

And a real nigga is nothing more than a construct of ignorant blacks who don’t understand that they don’t have to be held down to what their peers like. I like all types of shit. I got friends who likes straight hip-hop, straight trap music, straight EDM, straight pop and we all niggas. So take your ignorant ass somewhere because blacks don’t need to be held back by what’s considered “realness” in our community. Real talk.

      • Chrisblackusa

what makes you a real nigga,,,was you on the frontline in more then 1 do or die for your peoples,,,what makes you a real ngga,,,cause you hang with who,,,

      • acb87

no , because you think people outside american like Americans. no like the oppressor and b s talker aka america

      • KLewis

I’m talking about people liking the music, not the government policies. Turn on the radio in a foreign country, you’re gonna hear American music, see American TV. You act like I said they walk around waving the flag.

      • Chrisblackusa

you must have on black label owned sneakers, pants, draws and the whole nine to make things about black and white,,if you going all black then go head to toe with all you do,,if not then you are fronting,,,,i don’t know the group in concert,,but my sons listen to earl sweatshirt and ive heard some things from him that is aiight,,,and ive been living hiphop before it crossed the bridge to jersey and the rest of the world when it was cassette tapes only,,,wasn’t no record deals,,,everybody had to be different,,,this thing of ours is for the world,,,,

      • GQ

It aint that deep. No niggaz listen to that garbage. Lil niggaz doin weird gay shyt and rapping about it.

It yo son listen to that, you might wanna check his drawls. Mite be shyt in the front.

      • Chrisblackusa

aint no gay shit happening in this area,,,my suns got it going on,,,i got them ready to make moves in this hiphop world and not on no microphone,,,you might wanna check your pops blood and make sure you his sun cause he aint teach you to be versatile,,,

      • GQ

Raised by hustlers. I’m in that world yo suns tryna get in already. Been movie been shaking, aint shyt new. Still, OF sum homos.

      • Chrisblackusa

what kind of hustlers,,,ignorant,,gangster,,or smooth,,,i come from buildings of hustlers,,fck yo fam,,,I only bear witness to the smart ones that was smooth,,,the killers weren’t hustlers,,they don’t have the patience,,,take from ya azz is what it is,,,French fries is what would be group as,,i come from a family of hustlers,,like that mean something,,what you got,,,end how they end up,,,if they were smooth they went into legal business that is running today,,if not they were French fries,,,,side meal,,

      • Chrisblackusa

I aint defending the homo lifestyle,,,but for any person to make something of themselves in our communities condition is nothing but a plus because that will give another person the dream they can do it,,,

      • Myleage

i was just shocked that ppl knew them out there but i guess they do have a following

      • KLewis

It was at the Los Angeles Coliseum. My point is Odd Future got fans, white and black all over the world. Just because you’re not a fan of them doesn’t mean you have to discount everyone esle that enjoys their stuff.

      • GQ

If you like OF, you don’t matter to anyone on this earth. Thats real

      • KLewis

I’m not a fan of the whole movement, but they got members with talent. And damn dude, that’s kinda harsh lol lighten up

Admit Em, but deny them–on public safety grounds.

    Proof that America exports racism.
