Mannie Fresh Holding Off On Big Tymers Album With Birdman For “Fact And Figures”

(AllHipHop News) The reunion of Mannie Fresh and Birdman as the Big Tymers is still on hold at the moment. According to Mannie, another album featuring the two New Orleans legends is not official yet because the business end of the situation needs to be tied up.

“Facts and figures,” Mannie told MTV recently. “That’s where we at right now. Facts and figures. We just trying to lay down a plan for it, a blueprint and we’ll see what happens from there.”

The duo that created “Get Your Roll On,” “Number One Stunna,” and “Still Fly” have yet to record any material for the potential project, but Mannie is optimistic that a deal will get done and new tracks from the original Big Tymers will see the light of day.

“No verses, no music, none of that. We just started on negotiating, that’s where we at right now,” added Mannie. “Hopefully it’s gon happen.”

Mannie Fresh joined Birdman along with fellow Cash Money Records alum Lil Wayne, Turk, and Juvenile on stage at the 2013 BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Awards last August. The event honored Birdman and his brother Slim with the Icon Award for their contribution to music.

  • Reblogged this on HUEY mix wit RILEY.

  • Black Jay

Man… Cash Money can’t even put out the artists that they have on their rosters. So this is no surprise. Good luck with that.

    • Papi Peligro

      Its like 05 Rocafella.

      • David Gonz

thats cuz theyre all ghostwriters genius.
thats cuz theyre all ghostwriters genius.

    • David Gonz

thats cuz theyre all ghostwriters genius.

      • Black Jay

Hold on…. Did you really say that? For real? Ghost writers? So I guess Bow Wow is a ghost writer, huh? So I guess Limp Bizkit is ghost writing, huh? So I guess Mystical and Busta are ghost writing too, huh? Get the f*ck outta here with that bullsh*t! Ain’t no way over 20 artists are ghost writing. Who you fooling?

      • David Gonz

yes busta is a ghostwriter and limp buiskit probably is too. rakim was a ghostwriter at aftermath so was king t. im not fooling anyone i always thought this was common knowledge. maybe your just an idiot.

      • Black Jay

Dude…. For real? You straight playing yourself. Okay…. I know there are MCs out there that ghost write. I don’t dispute that. But you’re telling me that a stable of over 20 artists is ghost writing to replace the fact that Cash Money didn’t drop their albums? Once again…. Get the f*ck outta here! A whole stable of artists? Okay…. Your theory is soooo f*cked up! Okay…. Let’s say that they are ghost writing for the label….. How many artists has Cash Money put out material for in the last 2 years? Wayne, Bird, Nicki, Drake, and one or two others. You mean to tell me 20 plus artist are ghost writing for 5 artists? Hahahaha…. Yeah right. Even if they were writing for one another’s potential album, over 20 artist would be doing this? Okay…. Let’s say all 20 plus artists are ghost writing outside of the label in the industry. You mean to tell me they’re cool with that? Being signed to a label and moonlighting outside of the label writing other n*ggas rhymes just to make ends meet? With the way Cash Money operates, you don’t think something like that would get out from a disgruntled artist (if Cash Money even allowed it to begin with). Come on son. You sounding crazy right now. Cash Money is in trouble. Mark my words….. Drake and Nicki will jump ship. Weezy’s retiring. If they don’t get some new artists out there it’ll be Bad Boy all over again. A bunch of pissed off and homeless artists. Catch up dude.

      • BIG MIKE SOMETHING SERIOUS

Yeah i hate Mystikal and busta there. Don’t even think baby know how to market them. An Pharrell, why he ain’t hooked up with Mystikal. Too me that was some of the Neptune best production. JMO.

      • Black Jay

Man Pharrell is straight doin’ it right now. That sh*t would be fire! Busta should’ve never gone over there. That’s some wack sh*t.

      • David Gonz

pharell is mr bojangles. smilin jumpin and clappin and shuck and jive for the whiteman. you really are an idiot

      • Black Jay

Funny dude….. I guess all of your favorite hip hop artists and producers carry glocks, huh? Yeah…. Your hip hop knowledge is astounding. You’re impressing a lot of people. Yeah right….. Lol!

      • David Gonz

I DOTN CARE WHAT THEY CARRY. AS LONG AS THE MUSIC IS BETTER THN PHARELLS ILL LISTEN.

      • Black Jay

Opinions vary man…… Keep it moving. Do you.

      • David Gonz

busta rhymes is whack on any label.

      • Black Jay

Yeah…. Whatever you say. It’s obvious you know hip hop. Lol!

      • David Gonz

nobody said ghostwriting outside the label. you just assume thats what i meant. if u dotn think wayne drake and niki share she same stable of writers, youre not listening close enough.

      • Black Jay

Not listening close enough?! Read my posting again. I gave you 2 different scenarios…. In house (the record label) and industry. You’re the one that’s not listening. Your theory just doesn’t make sense. No diss, it’s just not logical. 20 plus n*ggas ghost writing for 4 artists. Yeah, right.

      • David Gonz

its very ,ogical. the fact u dissagree shows you dont know shit about hiphop. kane ghostwrote for biz markee. run dmc for the beasties. cube for easy. wayne for drake. busta for tyga. etc etc etc. youve never heard a demo song gee?? dude where u been. youre ranting liek an idiot. thats how it works player!

      • Black Jay

Hahahahahaha….. You’re a funny dude. Look…. Believe whatever you want to believe. At the end of the day you’re not putting money in my pocket and I’m not putting money in yours. Live your life dude… One.

  • i’mreloaded!

Only time I can tolerate Birdman on a song is with Mannie and he fuccin dat up. Thanks a lot Baby!

  • DC King Of Hearts

    So…lets see…
    There is Busta Rhymes
    There is Mystikal
    There is Mannie Fresh

Cash Money better stop solely focusing on Drake, Nicki, and Wayne’s albums every year and put out their real better shit. You already fucked up Turk’s return for everybody.

    #FreeBGizzle

    • SleepyTheGreat

Im not sure if Turk even re-signed with them. Unless he still under contract.

    • Tre C

not man were checking for Turk’s music….

    • BigHomie337

Nobody was checking for Turk before or after his jail stint. He was always the worst Hot Boy and the one album he dropped was only because Juvie and B.G. Was gone by than.

    • LD51

I forgot Mystikal signed to them. Damn he was so hype when he first got out of the bing.

  • LD51

That just goes to show you how powerful the mind is. Mannie Fresh, arguably one of the most prolific producers of hip hop can’t get out of the Cash Money mind state after ALL of the YEARS of bending over and getting turned into a Cash Money Half Pipe. No lube. With ALL of the musical talent in the world right now at this mans disposal and he still is so focused on recreating pass successes he is willing to go back to these people; even at the expense of good sense and KY Lube cost inflation…Puffy Diddy Syndrome.

    • David Gonz

are u kidding me??? mannies done tons of shit without cash money. maybe youre the one stuck in that mind state. if anything, cash money cant shake the mannie fresh years, when not only were they commercially successful but also critically acclaimed with most hiphoppers not from new york.. nowdays theyre a pop label

      • LD51

You have to qualify ‘tons of shit’. When I look at his production credits over the last few years I don’t see that.

      • dee

I cosign this … Mannie has had some hits check out some of ti biggest hits and about 3 of them are produced by mannie.

  • Dontoure Smith

That’s two different articles I’ve seen elsewhere that you guys have worded to look like there is some type of beef or controversy. Now yall know I don’t complain on here ever but yall really gotta cut that out. That’s real irresponsible to these blog trolls who take the spin yall put on other articles and run with it

  • Papi Peligro

Baby you got all the money in the world. You didn’t get their by not checking your paper work. But let 60/40 70/30 slide Mannie Fresh way. Big Tymers album ain’t gone make a killing.

good for Mannie Fresh. Get the paperwork right, and then he can get to creating a project.

  • MrNoName2K

Id definitely check it out if it ever drops.

Wonder what happened to the album he was doing with Yasiin Bey.

  • brotha_man

cash money is garbage without juvie and BG

    • Obi Won

      More so Mannie Fresh

    • LD51

Thank you. We all know how instrumental Mannie’s production was but somehow people forget about Juvie and BG. I don’t care what anyone says they were the battery in the back.

  • brotha_man

in the meantime go check out “the Doppelgangaz” . Real hiphop please stand up!!!!

  • Obi Won

The Classic Cash Money name has been tarnished already. The original sound shouldn’t try to be recaptured. Let 98-2000 stay in the time. I was a fan but nobody checking for a NEW Big Tymers. Mannie was/is the man production wise and has more of the comedian on the mic. Still, if Baby wants to do it, collect the check and have fun with it.

    • Southcidal

Speak for yourself homie. That’s the problem with our culture, we’re always looking to replace artists with the new flavor of the day. If Fresh and Baby make a dope album why shouldn’t people be “checking for them”? Its like Hip Hop is the only genre that replaces older and tighter acts with newer shiitier ones. So you’ll be checking for that Trinidad because its new huh?

      • Obi Won

LOL @ checking for TJ, hell no to that bull ish!!!
I was speaking in terms of Chemistry, you already know when most groups get BACK together after so many years, the chemistry is all off. You could look back in the day and tell they were having fun with the music, making us have fun with the music. The first thing Mannie Fresh said was “Fact and Figures”, in other words if the money aint in my account, count me out. I never said replace them, but can you imagine the new Lil wayne or Drake singing on a Big Tymers album?
I never said I would replace our older artist, if Big Tymers did a concert then yeah, but a new one would probably have Tyga and the rest of them corny dudes on there.

Lastly Hip Hop doesn’t so much replace artist every genre does that as far as current music, but just like Rolling Stones or Kiss ir some ish, if they do a show Its sold out. Hip Hop is the same if Wu Tang does a show, or if No Limit did a reunion tour, that bish would sell.
        LOL again at TJ!!!!

  • KILL NEW YORK RAPPERS

PROPS TO BIG TYMERS FOR MAKING BETTER MUSIC THAN NEW YORK RAPPERS

  • ZUBU

Mannie need to get the money right first and foremost, cause Baby will shake your hand, smile the diamond tooth smile in your face, pretend yall family, brag about how much money he got, but at the end of the day he won’t pay you. He will fukk you without any vaseline, ky, or any other type of lube. The reason why nobody from the old crew will really fukk with Baby, except Wayne and hell we all know they butt buddys. This music shittt is just like the streets, either you can trust the next man or you can’t. Just like the streets if somebody steals from you, you need to handle that person, leave them the hell alone or do both.
Stupidity/Ignorance is doing the same thing over and over while expecting different results.

    • W.E.B. Du Bois

but legal money runs out – then gotta make more to pay bills like anyone else

      • ZUBU

I understand what you saying bro, but all money runs out legal as well as street money. Reasons why you gotta keep on making paper in some capacity for the rest of your life. I’m just saying Mannie should not be fukkin with Baby cause he know already he shady. Mannie is not a young producer/artist he is a veteran with experience and other options.

    • Immortal

There is NO Big Tymers album without Mannie plain and simple. And you’re spot on…Birdman will fcuk you over before he even looks at you. It would seem to me like Floyd negotiating a contract with someone to fight asking for 95% of the totals and you getting the rest. Mannie’s beats made them in the first place.

I don’t understand the desire to get an album from cats who don’t write the material – this is why hip hop is taking a nose dive. How the fvck can people spit lyrics about being real when they’re not even your words.

    • David Gonz

90% of rappers never wrote their own material genius.

      • heavyboy

        90% is too high.

      • David Gonz

        ok 89%

      • heavyboy

So if you line up ten rappers only one of em wrote their own ish?? Rap moguls maybe but most dudes write…. be fair to the game bruh*

    • acapwn

If they hired ghostwrites for that shit, they need to get their money back. I really do believe they wrote them lyrics for them albums lol
