(AllHipHop News) The Trayvon Martin Foundation is set to host the “Circle of Mothers Empowerment Retreat.” The event’s mission is to help provide healing to mothers who have lost a child a to gun violence through workshops, classes and experiential restoration activities.

“The loss of a child is unbearable. This kind of pain transcends all ethnic and socio-economic bounds,” states Trayvon’s mother and TMF’s founder Sybrina Fulton. “The goal of this retreat is to gather together women, who like myself have experienced every mother’s nightmare, but are looking to take the progressive steps forward towards healing.”
Circle of Mothers have tapped Afeni Shakur as a keynote speaker. The activist and mother of Hip Hop icon Tupac Shakur will also be joined by author and motivational speaker Lisa Nichols.
“Like myself, Afeni Shakur has had her loss played out in the public eye. We, partnered with Lisa Nichols, will be able to impart the tools and wisdom we’ve gathered to help everyone that attends,” Fulton says.
Circle of Mothers Empowerment Retreat is scheduled for May 16th-18th at the Bonaventure Resort Hotel in Weston, Florida.
