(AllHipHop News) Anymore news like this and Trey Songz may have to sue Nelly for copyright infringement of “Mr. Steal-Yo-Girl”. Carolina Panthers defensive end Greg Hardy allegedly assaulted his ex-girlfriend over her relationship with Nelly.

Hardy is being charged for misdemeanor assault of a female and communicating threats. According to reports, Hardy beat his 24-year old ex-girlfriend Nicole Holder in his apartment this past Tuesday (May 14th). The couple had a “short-lived relationship” according to court documents that began in September 2013 and ended two months ago in March.

Court documents revealed that during a break in the former couple’s relationship, Holder had a relationship with Nelly, which purportedly had a negative affect on Hardy as he “often becomes suddenly very angry” according to court documents.

Following the alleged assault, Hardy made a 911 call alleging Holder of being the aggressor and threatening to harm him with her shoe. The suit alleges that Hardy threw Holder on a “couch covered in assault rifles and/or shotguns” while threatening to murder her. Holder alleges that Hardy possesses over 25 firearms in his home in Charlotte, North Carolina. Mecklenburg County District Court Judge Becky Thorne Tin ordered Hardy to surrender all of his guns as a condition of his $17,000 jail bond he received on Wednesday (May 14th).
