ARETHA FRANKLIN AWARDED HONORARY DEGREE FROM HARVARD UNIVERSITY (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Harvard University gave one of the greatest singers in recorded music’s history more than just her respect, they gave her a degree. Less than three weeks after Howard University awarded Sean “P. Diddy” Combs with an honorary degree, Harvard University has done the same for Aretha Franklin.

Yesterday at the 2014 Harvard University Commencement Ceremony (May 29th) Franklin was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Arts and was one of multiple recipients of honorary degrees from the institution with former President George H. W. Bush and Michael Bloomberg joining Franklin and others. Franklin never attended college.

Last week, news spread that Aretha Franklin’s upcoming album will feature collaborations with Babyface and Andre 3000 on her forthcoming album. She will headline the Blue Note Jazz Festival in New York City next month.
