50 Cent's 1st Week Sales Numbers For "Animal Ambition" Are In

(AllHipHop News) The final numbers are in, and 50 Cent’s independent release Animal Ambition will break the Queens rapper’s streak of topping 100,000 units sold out the gate. Fiddy’s 5th studio album will open with under less than half of that amount in its first week.

According to Hits Daily Double, Animal Ambition pushed around 40,000 copies during its initial week. The final total is slightly higher than the 30,000 – 35,000 range the site predicted for the project, but it is still the lowest opening week sales of 50’s career.

Previous 50 Cent studio albums have all been commercially successfully. Get Rich or Die Tryin’ (872,000), The Massacre (1.14 million), Curtis (691,000), and Before I Self Destruct (160,000) opened with a minimum of 6-figures in units sold opening week and went on to reach at least gold status in the United States.

50 is planning to drop a second album this year. Street King Immortal is scheduled to be released this September. The reunited G-Unit is also looking to release a project in November.

  • bigdoe6

He’s not going to sell those numbers cause hes not going to cheat and buy his own units. People are not going to run to the store and buy a 50 cent album. It’s not 2003 anymore. Everyone is digitally buying music. Only people who are selling those crazy numbers are people who are buying their own music. I didn’t buy 50 album at the store, i bought it on iTunes.

    • j_pullia

All digital sales are counted too! Just in case you didn’t know that.

    • j_pullia

Thats a myth that artists buy tons of their own music. That’s counter-productive. Why would anyone spend nearly a half million to buy 50k copies when they’ll barely make that off of an album?

      • johnblacksad

        Thank you!

There’s a difference between buying two copies or even a hundred… but ninjas talk like artists buy 500,000 copies to ensure gold… definitely a myth.

      • ItGoesDownINtheDM

my mind is a little cloudy on the subject but there is a practive of buy 15% of the music that is shipped … but those copies go to the label maninly for shipment to djs and other industry insiders to promote the music … if you ever worked in a label there are boxes on boxes of bar coded albums in the office as they drop …. but like i said we would ship them out for promo to specific people

      • EL_BARK

This is true, when i worked at a radio station back when i was younger u get boxes of cd that the stations give away as prizes and etc

      • B.U.

        Artists don’t, labels do.

    • Casor_Greener

Look at all the sucker ass 50 stans saying 45k ain’t bad. that’s bad no matter what age it is.

  • j_pullia

What did everyone expect? If you’re one of those artists who think sales make you the man then this is the hard lesson you learn. Everyone has their time and then people move on to other fad artists. Never put emphasis on sales. Put it on the quality of the music. That’s all that matters anyway when your’re dead and gone. His rap career is dead, but I’m sure he’s got a ton of othor successful ventures.

    • Brooklyn Stoop

“If you’re one of those artists who think sales make you the man then this is the hard lesson you learn”

so i guess 50 is in school studying hard

      • j_pullia

“Was in school”, now a graduate looking for work in an era that has no desire for him. He had a great past musically but has become musically irrelevant like 90% of all artists

      • Guest

Looking for work? LOL. This rap shit is a hobby for 50 at this point. Just another marketing arm of his brand.

      • B.U.

He’s not irrelevant at all, bro. He ain’t a giant like he was musically but he’s still doing well, especially for an indy album that got no radio push. Future sold 53K his first week and he’s probably the hottest artist in Atlanta and he’s on a major. Sales are down across the board.

      • ItGoesDownINtheDM

come on future sales 53k and is the biggest artist in atlanta … yet fif is irrelevant … if anything fif is a legend and will go down in the hip hop hall of fame … he made history … you dudes gotta start to learn to pay homage where its due ….. i see an article on ahh about fif almost everyday … and this didnt just start last month …. dude is very relevant and has been …. the only true statement here is him getting back on his grind … that interscope machine was tainting his moves ….. since going indy dude has been on a serious grind .. and i think that proves that interscope was holding fif back …….

      • B.U.

        I agree.

  • Brooklyn Stoop

50 sold 30k-35k of his mixtape called animal ambitious
his “real” album is gonna be the next one…………this was just to reintroduce him self
the reunion of gunit reignited his fans
now if the 2nd album drop and he still doing low #s then its a rizzy wrap

    • j_pullia

G-Unit fans are middle age men now. Kids buy music. Big numbers are trendy with fickle audiences who’s taste change like the weather

      • Guest

Damn, dog. What’s your definition of middle aged?

      • Joshua

Middle age is 35 to 54 according to the census, but some psychologics say it starts at 40 and ends at 65. Middle age is between young adulthood and old age. Middle age is when you start to see visible signs of aging like grey hair, wrinkles, reduced fertility, more bodyfat, and loss of muscle. Better eat right and exercise now. The secret is to just stay on your feet while you are awake. Sitting makes you age faster, WAAAY faster. If you are awake 16 hours a day try to stand and move. When you stand do not stand still just move. Reduce stress and anger and get happy, just be happy. Sugar and protein speeds your aging so if you eat a lot of it do something with it.

      • Joshua

Nas and Hov could still push 100000 units and they’re 40.

      • Yes but they also have a major label behind them.

      • Joshua

Doesn’t matter. The point is middle aged rappers can still move units. Age is no excuse for not moving units.

      • you are missing the point. on a major compared to independent it is different. you actually make double or triple the money on an independent label. especially if you own that label which some rappers dont. even on a major you cant come out with an album as much as you want to. 50 got off of interscope a few months ago and then said im dropping my album in june just like that and did like 2 or 3 months of promo. this was the appetizer. then theres street king, then the g-unit album. then everyone else. theres a bigger picture. even jay said you can never count 50 out.

      • ItGoesDownINtheDM

1st week indy ?? jayz maybe can cause hes just as great at marketing and promo as he is rapping…. but nas’s last few major releases didnt even go plat so him doing an indy project could possibly sell less than fif simply cause nas hasnt mastered the art of promo and marketing ….

      • Joshua

Mac Miller sold 100000 indy and 50 cent is a way bigger artist. Just face it, 50 cent sold 40000 units. It is what it is.

      • ItGoesDownINtheDM

keep in mind what i said about “new artist” …. fif might of sold 40k this go round … but as a total hes has to be close to 20 million sold …. as a whole what has Mac done … prob not even platinum yet !! ijs …. keep that in mind … its like eating 20 million burgers vs 100,000 fries ….. folks like im tired of these burgers let me see what these fries about …. in addition i think it would be more fair to compare what mack miller first week #s look 10 years down the road ……

      • j_pullia

He’s nowhere near the talent level of Nas or Jayz

      • ItGoesDownINtheDM

lol @ the irony of “kids” buying music LOL !!!!!!! didnt camron just expose how kids “feel” about buying music lol

      • Hendrix2020

Kids are the consumers but they are not buying music. They all are downloading for free. I don’t know of one teenager between 13- 19 who buys albums. Sales don’t mean much in hip hop nowadays.

      • ILLAmusic

I don’t know anyone younger that will buy a record…I still go out to the record store on release day but that’s what I’m used to doing. Most people just jump on their computer and get it free..but the last part of that I agree with 100%

    • Joshua

The reason why he didn’t sell a bunch of albums is because he forgot what got him here. He got here because he was dropping music nonstop and he kept his music in your ear with mixtapes. He started to rely on the label too much and they don’t produce music that fast. He should of just kept making as much music as he could regardless of his other venturs.

  • John

40k is really good for independent sales. 50 also said that each time he released a single off this album he sold 80,000 pieces. So combine that with the 40k and he did around 120k for a mixtape. Plus he prob keeps half the sale money. With Get Rich and Massacre he only kept like 50 cents or around that per album. 50 will also come out with projects more frequently in order to keep the cash flow going. He also keeps the money for his youtube spins from ads and each video has over a million views. The average indie artist usually only sells around that amount anyway. Its much different from being signed to a major.

  • TruthSerum

Sure, he’s an Independent artist now, so 40K aint bad…… … But, then again, that Dude Tech N9ne sold 50K last year in his first week without the benefit of having been one of the genres biggest stars for a decade.

I’m sure his profit margin will be considerable tho, and to 50 that’s all that ever mattered anyway so I’m sure he’s fine with it…… As a music fan tho, this album sucks

    • ItGoesDownINtheDM

that just goes to show you the difference between being on a major and indy … not saying an indy cant outsell a major … but chances are it would have to be a new artist to accomplish that (macklemoore) … in order to do big numbers … you have to ship big numbers … and thats what seperates an indy situation from a major situation …. interscope can easily ship 100k + units …. as an indy you will be lucky if they ship 50k+ units … and keep in mind i said SHIP … SHIP vs PURCHASE … 2 different things …. RIAA (shipped) vs SOUNDSCAN (sold) …. and the fact that this was an free album … for fif to still sell 40k i think that amazing … we not even counting what he made off each single song he released on itunes … imo if fif was a new artist he would have sold 100k+ easily … but interscope has already ran his brand …. fif is actually trying to revive it … and he did as far as being relevant …. to get to platinum status again indy …. not sure if that will be happening … however he can potentially push a new artist to that status tho …. thats very possible ……

      • ItGoesDownINtheDM

imo his true selling potential from an iindy stand point will come from the Street King Imortal album …. imo animal ambition was his usual mixtape before the album run but he disguised it as an album ….. animal ambition was his re-introduction …. Street King Imortal he will make his stamp ….

      • Jovaughn

Was it 40k sold or shipped? This article is not clear then because it states “Animal Ambition pushed around 40,000 copies”

      • Phibes

        40,188 copies sold!

  • Killuminati

hes independent now so thats all in pocket

    • johnblacksad

      first week…

      • Killuminati

truuu…i bet he sells more than french montanas measely 197k

  • bigg dogg

he admitted this was just a tune up album….like a mixtape album

  • B.U.

As if sales has anything at all to do with quality, or profit for that matter. This is a solid 1st week for an appetizer album that he let everybody hear before it was even released.

    • sakiru oresanwo

      what was the original language?

      • johnblacksad

Mooré (West Africa… mainly Burkina Faso, some in Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire etc)

      • sakiru oresanwo

Thought I’d heard it before (even though I don’t speak any of those languages)

  • ZOE BOYZ

Bla! Bla! Y’all trying to come up with excuses for your idol ….the facts is no body care about 50 no more ….after 50 fucked up NY HipHop now he’s suffering pain 🙁 sad to say that but that a FACS for most HipHop analyst. If it was jaz-z ,Wayne, drake,Kendrick,Kanye …. I think y’all was gonna say they irrelevant now…..50 probably would have some tears for them….loll 50 is irrelevant that the bottom line..just some tips about this rap game for y’all …peace out!

    • TopShotta

this ain’t got nothing to do with NY the run is over it happens to everyone…some just don’t want to exit the stage gracefully…Fame is the worst drug known to man!

    • Hendrix2020

I do agree. 50 did destroy NY Hip Hop. He went after everybody who was hot in NY at the time…Ja Rule & Murder Inc, Fat Joe & Terror Squad, Diddy, Nas, Cam, Jadakiss….hell he even destroyed his own camp. He made himself a brand name but lost it musically.

      • I gotta cosign that statement. 50 went after everyone and sh*tted on the whole NY scene in the process.

    • ST_JAMES_BETWEEN_FULTON AND GA

So I guess being blackballed, stabbed, shot BEFORE he blew up had nothing to do with it huh fam? Don’t act like Ja wasn’t trying to end his career before it started-that’s why he crushed Murder Inc.Joe and Jada got sprayed trying to play Captain Save A Ho for Ja lmao.If someone got beef, don’t be on the corner with them if you don’t want to get hit up with them…and some NY rappers tried to be universal by collabing with the South and lost that NY originality while all todays fans want is dumbed down simple shit or Drake lullabies which isn’t NY style…

And I’m a Brooklyn rep living in Florida, believe me Down South cats love NY rap-at least the real ones lol…

      • Hendrix2020

50 had quite a few lullabies himself. I understand that it was some street shit that led to him and Ja’s beef but still that led to the beginning of the downfall. No rapper from NY after 50 has blown up and become a mainstay in the game. Think about it.

      • Phibes

Sorry, but your wrong. The first person that comes to mind is Nicki Minaj. #QUEENS!

      • Hendrix2020

Yea you’re right but I was talkin about around that time frame. I should’ve made that clear. Her first album didn’t drop until 2010 which was 7 years after Get Rich or Die Trying dropped. Even still…that’s only one artist. New York used to have hella artists coming out.

      • AMIR SHAKIR

  • DOC

Rapping is 50 Cent’s hobby…his net worth doesn’t come from album sales alone.

  • WWW_XBLACKVIDS_COM

    lol

  • Montezuma1

I predicted 40k first week on this site and 160k overall. I was called a hater for having an opinion that is turning out to be correct. 50 was never a great MC but he had a swag that was undeniable. Like all trends and fads his has run its course. This guy has been doing this for over 15 years. I think to expect him to do numbers comparable to GRODT is ridiculous. He needs no more albums at this point and should only feature on songs. Focus on the other ventures. The music career is over. Been over.

    • Hector G

50 can do what he want, when he wants. Only smart thing you said is “to expect him to do GRODT numbers is ridiculous.” Other than that you are just a hater who thinks you decide when someone stops rapping. lolol tryin to tell someone with 100+ mill what to do. I see you sucka

      • Montezuma1

LMAO. I hope you’re getting paid to ride dick this brutally. You’re gonna need the money to repair your asshole.

      • Da Ledgendary

        lol

      • Da Ledgendary

You’re right though. 50 selling off like he used to its over. But he’s indy now, so he doesn’t need to. He admitted this himself, but he also said he’s just doing it for fun now.

  • 1hiphophiphop

It’s over Fif. Concentrate on your other ventures.. Stop rapping!!

  • El Dogga

LOL at the picture in the article.

  • imma darkboy

sooooo was the album any good?

    • Montezuma1

That doesn’t matter to the bean counters. They just count his money. They’re not fans of music they’re groupies. lol. To answer your question it wasn’t very good. Same ole shit. No creativity. Nothing we have’t heard from him before and not as good either.

      • Hector G

nah the album was fire…you don’t know what you’re talking about clearly. He is independent now so he doesn’t have to worry about goofs like you…..”bean counters”

      • Joshua

Ha Bean Counters. You know people are money hungry.

      • Joshua

And you read his statement wrong.

      • Da Ledgendary

Exactly. Fans have turned into nothing but pocket counters. either you like the album or you don’t. His pockets have nothing to do with me.

SKI out in September…releases Mixtape called Animal Ambition…sells it when its been online for a month. Sells 40k , ( thats not counting bundle sales, im assuming). Reunites with Gunit, everyone talking about him..2014 is 2002 for him… 2003 has yet to arrive.

    • Dreday410

This dude sold AA for $5,000 which came with a trip to his house that sold out…..HOW THE HELL IS THAT A LOST
and he got $200 Million for his movie contract and will produce Big Meech movie BMF

      • Executive

He got a $200million dollar 10 movie BUDGET not $200million in his pocket.

      • AMIR SHAKIR

AND CANT TAKE 1 PENNY WITH HIM WHEN ITS TIME TO DIE

  • Dreday410

Is the hate that strong for this man… I mean why can’t no one realiz he sold 40k of an free album……If you say you did not hear all the songs on AA before june 3rd or saw all the videos you straight just hating

    • Montezuma1

Well he’s reaping what he sowed. Who had nothing good to say about anyone? 50. That’s who. He gotta take it like he dish it. His fans too.

  • trilltalk1

are we really surprised by the #’s?

    • Dreday410

If he did not make a video for all the songs and release them a month before the offical release then yes it would be a suprise but given everthing was free to download on sharebeast website it should not be a suprise at all when you giving out free music……
prime example Meek Mill had 3 Million downloads and only 200,000 sold from offical album…..

      • trilltalk1

independant don’t ship the same as major’s. 40 thousand independent 1st week he made what he spent, so he didn’t lose shit. it’s always about the MATH.

      • Da Ledgendary

        exactly

  • Andre Moore

with torrents and stuff and music blogs aint nobody buying music anymore. I haven’t bought a album in forever unless its someone that I want to support like Little Brother and Phonte. I don’t buy this crap thats out these days. I played 50s album on iTunes and its not that good.

    • i’mtelling

those things was around when he was selling. because of internet and torrents, lots of artist who would never have been heard gained a fan base across the country. Only 5 artist sell. always have and always will. the rest got famous because of the internet blog sites posting their free music and stories that have nothing to do with music. Back in the day, Soulja Boy would have to have a hit to actually be heard. Internet has created and extended careers of rappers with no major hits under their belt. I know I downloaded a bunch of albums that I would had never brought or heard of if it wasn’t for free.

  • Dadon850

Y’all can say what you want but this is a huge disappointment for 50. The album really ain’t that bad but it sounds like 2003. Rap has evolved from that era, and good or bad, he’s been left behind.

    • Dreday410

Explain the disappointment to a FREE album ?

      • Dadon850

Because 50 has pride. You don’t think it bothers him that his brand has fallen off like this?? 50 is OK with me but you are kidding yourself if you don’t think he’s disappointed.

      • foshow38

I agree even on a indy level I’m sure his expectations was much higher than 40k units. But one thing about 50 he’ll never show his disappointment.

  • Dreday410

If 50 cent is washed why is the G unit movement right now seems like the hottest thing at this point….I hear the G unit version on radio (3 new songs) more then the actually artist who made them

    • Celz

I ain’t heard none a that ish in Cali lol And Kday plays a gang of East Coast music and doesn’t follow the traditional programming like Power 106..

    • guddaboy

he need dat gunit movement. trust me. no, trust his numbers. seem like he need gunit more they need him as of now. ha!

      • donniebrasko

        lol

    • AMIR SHAKIR

only white folks like that shit I’m just bein honest and your lame ass

  • I was silent on 50 for the past few weeks because I only wanted to see the numbers. Now that the numbers are in I have to say, DAMN! The mighty has fallen. His career as a profitable mainstream rapper is over. Now comes the test to see if he has that underground hustle and can maintain. But as far as selling, he’s burned too many bridges.

    • Da Ledgendary

fam, 50’s indy now, he doesn’t need to sell a million anymore to make a profit. say he getting $5 a pop (probably getting more), not including what he already got from single sales, he just made $200,000 in a week.

      • Joshua

He has to recoup first or breakeven before he sees money.

      • donniebrasko

Production was for free? Videos for free? Promotion was for free? Guest features for free?? Grow a brain, these numbers are disturbing!!!

      • Da Ledgendary

I am aware of the costs of producing and promoting an album. but its only first week sales. do you think his sales are going to stop at 40k? and those numbers are only domestic I think. Do we expect him to recoup overnight? I bet 50’s budget for this album wasn’t even $1 million. If he only sells 200k he broke even and that’s not including single sales. Everybody downloading shit for free but there are still some people that support and pay for shit. One tour overseas and he’ll reach at least 300k.

      • Myleage

        plus clubs and tour money

      • donniebrasko

Your biggest week is always the first week, this album IS NOT a slow burner like the heist. Its gonna max out at 90k by the end of the year and prob 150k worldwide. Lets be honest, the numbers are low so lets stop talkin like he’s gonna sell loads more in week 2. Now if he makes (being generous) $8 a CD thats $320k this week, everyone that had a part in the production will receive points on the album, thats a given. He shot 10 videos, Rivera his video guy is not gonna receive less than $10k per video, styles, kiss, prodigy, and those RnB cats are all gonna get ATLEAST 10-15k per feature. Then promotion on youtube, billboards i see everywhere are gonna cost. just do the math. He’ll brake even on shows, but budget for this album are not gonna be recouped on the sales, regardless of singles because he hasn’t got a single hit on this album. Now at this stage can 50 still sell out arena’s? Is he still commanding 100k a show? Is there a crazy demand for 50 on the club tour circuit?? Those are the questions
Don’t just tell me these weak numbers are gonna generate some kinda profit, no damn way!!!

      • Da Ledgendary

He still sells out arenas overseas. My homey has a booking company and books for overseas venues. 50 still receives nothing less than 300k just to make an appearance overseas. True he may have dried up hear in America but the world is big as hell. Most hip-hop artists that no longer sell like that in America maintains a significant overseas presence and Canada. Ask Redman, Meth, the rest of the Wu. Most of the artists my people book overseas are older artists and artist that no longer sell much in America, but they fill venues overseas. Thats where the real money is still at in music.

      • donniebrasko

Your homey is lying to you, 300k?? WTF? while i agree that there’s a market overseas (always been), 50 aint in demand like that overseas, lets keep it real. 03-09? maybe but the last 5yrs?? Hell nah, best 50 can get in overseas market is 100k AT BEST and thats reaching! He just doesn’t have that pull anymore.

    • Earl Rutherland

Animal Ambition numbers are decent for an indy

      • BlueScalise

Right.. I would rather do 40,000 Indy, than 80,000 on a major.

      • guddaboy

stfu its not decent for shitty cent doe. a well known rapper that once sold millions…no excuse my nigga

      • Earl Rutherland

I can tell you don’t get twat.

    • Triple7_skylakegreat

      No pusha t

    • Dope

Well.. that Young Money thing is definitely the most embarrassing one on the list. How do you sell 30K with Drake, Wayne and Nicky on a CD (don’t like either of them, but the fact is they sell).

    • AMIR SHAKIR

way 2 go rick ross you still out sold that snitch
look at 50 numbers……..lol Your album should have been called (GOD DONT LIKE UGLY) lol

  • The_Good_Life

50 is a brand no, like ice cube…music to the back, movies and tv to the front…

  • rapper2freedom

Artists & Labels are not all the way clear when they announce deals or splits etc

Animal Ambition is the last album out of a 5 album solo deal (group
    albums/compilations didn’t count) 50 owes Universal/interscope (caroline
    is still under Universal Banner)

They made the mistake in telling him he could keep the proceeds of any
single he released with a video …. so he released them all (smart or
not you decide) so let’s not forget he already made a 3 million profit
regardless of sales which in comparison to a rapper on a major required
to sell 500k and tour half of U.S.A to get that money. Secondly he got
payed 23 million to leave interscope, keep that in mind.

You probably win financially but to the general public if album numbers
don’t come back decent it looks like a loss (and rightly so) because we
created the whole sales thing back in the day we can’t change it now if
    things aren’t looking good …

No excuses it is what it is ….. money isn’t everything ……

50 can still pull a crowd and sale shows. Remember that worldwide 50
still matters. In the States he’s old news unless you’re into his brand
of music. And as mentioned if the jams are good enough he’ll get more
light on him again. Obviously the biggest radio stations are still
wanting to hear from him and interview him so he can easily create that
interest. And if true that way he did singles for every song is smart as
    hell.

    • Da Ledgendary

Well said. He basically made his bread from this album already.

    • Thanx Nerve

Funny how you delusional 50 Cent stans can thumb up any bullshit to feel good. The TRUTH is simple: 50 Cent loses this one, he’s the most obsessed artist ever about sales, that’s a fact and you can’t deny it. THIS IS a FLOP especially with all the media cover he gets. More media cover than many mainstream artists.

And you can already start to make up some excuses for the next FLOP with SKI. LMAO

      • donniebrasko

Ross got 160-200k loyal fans that go out every week a new album comes out, even MMG vol 3 did more in its first week. Like jeezy said, i ain’t tryin to sell 10 mil, i’m tryin to sell a mill 10 times!

    • Qaadiru Rashaad

To be honest Amir it’s hard for any artist to go platinum these days with albums. It’s more likely to go platinum off of a single than an album. #NewDayInMusic

I don’t think the popular crowd is into his style of music anymore. These days artist have to sell a lifestyle and youngins these days aint into that aggressive ‘ish no more. Even “street rap” is melodic these days

    • Myleage

“it aint nothing but a gangsta paaarrty.” i think its always been melodic. “bone, bone, boooooooone.”

This is truly not bad for not having a bigger machine behind him. Profit margin in music is different today than it was years ago. How money is earned has expanded into other avenues of revenue. Touring is a bigger revenue generator than its ever been and he has a large viable audience worldwide that still wants to see him. I think if he keeps providing some consistency with the music and it’s good plus if he is able to bring that GUnit group brand back to the forefront, his future will be prosperous. I think if he does between 350k and 500k records this would be considered a success. I think what 50Cent needs is that one undeniable record that can go, it will help him pick up steam. The joint with Trey Songs is a good record, its dope but he needs something thats undeniable. This project is a good project but I think 50Cent looks at this project like a reintroduction. If you’re looking for any record sales that he’s had in the past, it wont ever happen again for anyone. PERIOD its a new day in music

  • Andre Moore

Record companies buy most of the albums and give then away as promotions to boost album sells. A indie ain’t buying shit lol. I don’t even know 2 people that bought any of Rihanna’s albums.

    • guddaboy

wow another excuse hahahaha! wat happened to his millions of fan base?

      • AMIR SHAKIR

HE HAS NO FAN BASE BUT POLICE OFFICERS

    • AMIR SHAKIR

YOU BET NOT BUY THAT GARBAGE AS ALBUM

  • RightOn

Flop flop flop!!!!! Hopefully now this has-been will learn to stfu and know his place. Gossiping a**. Not only did he flop, but also burned every bridge by dropping names and talking shhh in every promotional interview thinking it will help him sell. Flop!!! And to his D-rryders, being indie is no excuse. If Hov decided to drop an album indie, he would def sell at least 4 times that. Bye Fif..Irrelevant Blvd is that way.

For somebody who’s “Not relevant” he gets the most comments on All hip hop & any other site that has an article about him. Lol

I would rather sell 40K independent than sell 100k with a major release. What allot of these folks don’t understand, with a major, most of these artist are seeing a few cents on the dollar (most not even 20 cents). Not like indie artist who “At least” do a 50/50 split. These majors only hand out a few points to artist which amounts to pennies.

    • AMIR SHAKIR

Dam when you worth 100 of millions you should be relevant but its all a phobia nobody really likes him but white folks so its really free publicity

      • Phibes

Sucking dick for studio time!?! You tickle me. LOl

It’s obvious you don’t know shit by your childish ignorant comments. Before you try to come for me,you better find out who I am first! #BALLSACROSSTHENOSE

who ever wrote this and chose this over used picture is definately a hater…as an independant artist..hes being critiqued like hes still has the corporate machine funding his project..The tracks I heard on the album are dope. I will get that album

    • guddaboy

lmao. fukk u 50stans…now u niggaz got the answer y niggaz cant sell records cuz ya fav rapper cant sell shit, even wit all da publicity…dis made my day, ha!

Solid sales for an independent release and a solid album. 50 still has a decent fan base, but his days as a megastar are most likely over. I personally don’t give a shit, because now he can get back to his roots and do what he does best and not worry, so much about making commercial hits. Some of my favorite rappers out there are not the most commercially successful. I do believe if 50 can stay on top of the wave of momentum and hype he has built from Summerjam and the G-Unit reunion, he can get back to 100,000 plus records and become a relevant force in Hip-Hop once again. Other than Jay and Em, no one has stayed on top commercially relevant for over a decade.

    • DLOUPO

Lol I like how y’all say independent artist, 50 is not an independent artist Mac miller who sold 100,000 first week is. 50 doesn’t have independent artist bills so this is not good. 50 sold diamond twice was on every network tv show and radio show promoting this record and he only did 47k only a dicryda would defend this flop and next week he’ll sell 3,000 copies. When French drop 50 said it was a flop so y this is not and French sold more think this is good then y on 50 website u can’t find that he sold 47k

      • donniebrasko

Did you buy 7k copies on your own? He sold 40,188, Maybe 47k worldwide (including itunes) lol

    • AMIR SHAKIR

huh that was the wackiest mtf album ever where u from

      • YungKizz

yeah super wack plus rick ross was eatin him up back in 09 anyway

      • Chuck Haze

That shit was better than both Curtis and the Massacre. I’m aware that Rick Ross won the 50 cent beef, but 50 Cent’s album was still fire.

    • YungKizz

nope rick ross’s deeper than rap $hitt it before i destruct bad 50 done

  • tessab

please can the excuses stop. this is not a good week for 50 cent, full stop. It dosent mean he wont go on to better things but the fact remains, this is not good at all. 50 cent was the one who made record sales so important so now it has come back to bite him in the ass.

47,000 first week with out international sales number counted is still a good first week for a INDY artist who albums are shipped less

Even if it was 147,000 he still was not going to get love from anyone for the success regardless…..

when you win so much and keep winning they point out anything that feels like a failure in order to get over your success – POWER #1 TV Show, G Unit hottest topic in HIP HOP, BMF Movie, POWER earned 2nd Season – all this in less then a week
