Jeezy Discusses Reason For Settling Feud With Former Rival Rick Ross

JEEZY ON SQUASHING BEEF WITH ROSS: THE MUSIC IS MORE IMPORTANT

(AllHipHop News) Many Hip Hop followers were surprised when news broke earlier this year that Young Jeezy and Rick Ross had settled their differences and would actually appear together on a track.

The two Southern rap stars had been involved in a very public feud for years, so their collaborative work on Ross’ Mastermind and Jeezy’s Seen It All was viewed as a big moment of reconciliation for Hip Hop.

Not everyone was convinced the settling of the beef between the Snowman and the Bawse was genuine. Chicago rapper Lil Durk expressed his belief that the union was strictly for publicity.

Jeezy was asked about why he let go of his issues with Ross, and the status of the Def Jam artists’ current relationship during an interview with The Breakfast Club.

Jeezy said:

With the title “Seen It All,” I gotta be honest. I had to come to terms with being an adult and being a leader. Ignorance is one thing and being about your business is another. When me and homie finally had a chance for us to talk and not nobody talk between us, we saw everything alike. We made great music before. Why wouldn’t you make great music?

At the end of the day, that’s what the world needs. More so than people just going back-and-forth. The way I looked at was like, people get hurt. I’d been in them situations before. It’s never you. It’s somebody around you. It wasn’t worth that to either one of us. The music is more important…

When I say, “I seen it all,” I really grew up. When I came in the game I was a different dude. Now I see the world different – opportunities and things you can get done, more so than just pulling yourself back.

Young Jeezy and Rick Ross worked together on the Mastermind track “War Ready” and the Seen It All: The Autobiography track “Beautiful” with Game. The latter album was released this week.
