Nas' 'Time Is Illmatic' Will Air On Showtime

THE DOCUMENTARY WILL BE COMING TO THE SMALL SCREEN THIS WEEKEND

Nas’ Time Is Illmatic is coming to a small screen near you.

For those of you who missed its screening at this year’s TriBeca Film Festival, Showtime is airing the documentary this Friday (Dec. 12) at 9 p.m.  The 74-minute film depicts how Nas’ upbringing in New York City’s  Queensbridge projects laid the lyrical blueprint for what was to become his classic debut album Illmatic.  Viewers will also get a look into the album’s creative process and the moments that led up to the God’s Son getting his first record deal at the tender age of 20. The flick, which was directed by One9 and written by Erik Parker, features commentary from Pharrell Williams, Busta Rhymes, Q-Tip and many more.
