Kendrick Lamar Talks Being A Writer Not A Rapper + Debuts New Song On "Colbert Report" (VIDEOS)

(AllHipHop News) Stephen Colbert is counting down the last few episodes of his late night Comedy Central show The Colbert Report. The host is preparing to take over the Late Show desk from David Letterman, and his closing week on Comedy Central featured a final musical appearance by TDE emcee Kendrick Lamar.

K. Dot stopped by The Colbert Report last night (December 16) to speak with Colbert. He also performed a news song “Untitled.” Kendrick was accompanied by a band, California bassist Thundercat, and R&B singer Bilal.

“I pride myself [on calling myself a writer instead of a rapper]. It’s more storytelling than actually putting rhyming words together,” explained the West Coast representative.
